OMG OMG!

The Quicktime icon has changed!

It's blue now? I guess it fits better with their other icons.

May I be the first to say, it looks absolutely disgusting. Seriously, the old icon looks way more modern then this roadkill. Honestly whoever has been designing all the UI elements for the OS in the last few years needs to go. First iTunes, then Leopard, then all these horrid icons... ugh.

i just checked mine and am dling right now...

oh and i never had any apps crash on 411.

Quicktime has also been updated to a new build.

"OS X Snow Leopard is slated for a September release and will cost $29 for current OS X Leopard owners. Users purchasing a new Mac on June 8th, 2009 or later can receive the updated operating system for $9.95 though Apple's "Up to Date" program."

I just noticed this. Interesting that the "Up to Date" program still requires payment. Whereas, DELL and other manufacturers are offering free upgrades to Win 7 for new PC buyers.

This is Apple we're talking about.

I agree that the iTunes icon could use a refresh, but otherwise I think the new icons look great. I think the designer should keep his job :)

The thing is, once SL ships, any machine that's purchased on that day or afterwards will have it either pre-installed or given a drop-in upgrade disc. Sure, I'm one of the ones that has to pay the $9.95, but I'm not complaining. I would honestly be willing to pay the $29 for the full install disc (and I probably still will just because it's such a great deal).

OMG! I got so excited about this update! Sort of when a "one more thing" happens. I think it's because of shipping charges or DVD material charges. I know, I know that 10 bucks seem expensive but as the guy above, it's Apple. Anyway, it's not THAT expensive. Just my 0.02 cents.
