Snow Leopard is SO much better than Leopard was in the last beta stage.
Cannot wait for the final release.
Must...keep...hand...from...installing...SL beta...on...main drive.:D

I have it on my main drive... just do it! but when you do you will have to open software update like 4 times to get each new build..

Xbench OpenGL Score drastically lower in SL

Ever since the first build of SL on my macbook I have been consistently getting terrible OpenGL test scores in Xbench in SL than with 10.5. No build of SL has corrected this. Its about 150 in 10.5 and 61 in SL. This makes my overall score in Xbench much lower than in regular leopard even though everything else individually tests much faster. Anyone else notice this?

Why is the quick time icon different then what they demoed at wwdc. and the web site ?

http://www.apple.com/macosx/technology/#quicktimex

doe this mean Quicktime is free

BUT

Quicktime X will cost just like Pro ?

Because things change of course. A bunch of visual elements have already been changed since they were demoed at WWDC. And they will most definitely change some more for the final build.

Speaking of which, what's with Apple seeding all of those builds over software updates? Has that ever been done before in the past? Are they intentionally doing this because of the WWDC build being shared with other developers not in the seeding program?

It is just interesting to see if Apple is indirectly doing this to get more information from non-developers. I'm sure there are a few Apple devs monitoring this forum.

I think they are doing this so it does not tie up there servers all the time... So instead of releasing a whole new seed which can be very large just release it as small updates over software udpate

They could require the registered developers to download it directly from ADC site once in a while to make it hard for people like us from using those minor updates.

But so far they haven't... i think apple is turning a new leaf with the Mac community! They don't care who gets it! the more to test the more bugs that gets worked out

Hay you Michael Flux i read your blog.

i just think its weird that at wwdc they play a movie in a application called "Quicktime X"

and both the blue and "red" (new quicktime icons) were found in one of the banners. . . .
