iTunes on Windows already has a 64-bit version, so SL should have it in five seeds, I think.

iWork and iLife will be 64-bit when the '10 packages come out.

iTunes currently is not 64-bit unless there is a way to enable it.... and I don't think we will see iLife and iWork 10.... when they just came out... I think 64-bit should enabled or added in a software update

Ok... thanks... I wonder what else is new.... When do you think iTunes, iWork '09, and iLife '09 will go 64-Bit

iWork and iLife may go Intel only with the next release. As for 64-bit, that's anyone's guess. Same for iTunes. I don't see that being Intel only since a lot of PPC users are also iPod owners, but this is Apple we're talking about.

You forget its a beta and that apple does not want to put everything in the beta so it all leaks out... I bet apple has a few things up their sleeve for when it goes GM

It's not "beta" by any means. It's a developer's build. There is a difference. Beta versions are numerically different. Version 10.6 is not beta.

We're in the stages of "Any of these releases could be the Gold Master," not "This is beta guys, so expect crashes, glitchy interfaces, and ugly colors."

The purpose of the developer seeds (which are not betas) are for developer to test against. However on the ramp up from WWDC to GM Apple doesn't add major features - especially new in the GM. The big new features are announced at their press events. Adding something large so late in the game is asking for trouble - especially since Snow Leopard is not a release that is supposed to introduce big features.

Can't iTunes, iWork, and iLife go 64-bit without affecting users who are unable to run it.. Like the CD has both versions and it installs the correct version based on your configuration

Oh it probably can. I know for a fact that the Windows version of Photoshop CS 4 does just that; detects the version of the OS (32-bit or 64-bit) and installs the appropriate version.

It's very important that Quicktime X have a flashy icon so people look at that instead of the actual app. Whatever you do, don't look closely at the app.

Oh really? Look at the download iTunes page from a 64-bit Windows box. Its there.

I'll post a screenshot in a few.

I hope apple does this soon... im tired of waiting for iTunes to open

Snow Leopard desktop backgrounds

FYI, the desktop background pics of snow leopards in this release were taken by Steve Winter. I am not he, but thought he ought to get some credit somewhere -- getting these photos was not, by any definition, easy.

Thanks!! I forgot to give credit to who took them....
