Heres a little tip. When in expose clicking on the application icon in the dock removes other windows and only shows the windows of that application.

Also command + 1 sorts windows alphabetically and command+2 sorts by application.

The chinese handwriting input is awesome!

Will this allow you to set output to "headphones", and thereby prevent music from playing from the internal speakers of (e.g.) your MacBook when you accidently pull out your headphone cable? If so, that would be great.

That feature was there before already. Your mac remembers the last setting you had with/without a cable. If you want to prevent it from playing music when acciddentally pulling out your headphones, do this:

1. Pull your headphones out. Mute the volume.
2. Put your headphones back in and enjoy your music.

Next time you pull them out, nobody will hear a thing.
I enjoy this feature a lot, as I am writing my thesis in the library.

are you all seeing the new font on this and other websites??
also when using expose when I have loads of windows open it doesnt open quite as smooth as before, or maybe I'm just thinking about it to much??

:rolleyes:well the font thing is firefox!!!!!
not sure why but after installing SL my fonts had changed!!weird but nice

I can't believe that this hasn't been mentioned before (that, or I missed it).

When you have a grid view enabled on the dock, if you scroll along the dock, the grid stays stationary and the triangle moves and you can click on another stack in the dock with no problem.

I have no idea what you mean.

Dosn't seem to work for me?

Edit: fixed

Yeah, it's kinda confusing, I had a hard time trying to figure out how to explain it. Do this:

Click on a stack that is set up for grid view.

While in grid view, move your cursor along the dock.

Notice the triangle (arrow), pointing down at the stack, move along as you move along the dock.

Now click on another stack.

Previously, if you had a grid stack opened and tried to move along the dock, the grid view would also move and sometimes a stack would not open if you tried to click on a new stack while the previous grid view was still open.

Printer Drivers

The new Canon printer drivers allow supply level checking via AirPort Express USB printer sharing. This never worked before in Leopard for me :D

I think you mean with Dock Magnification on too?

Not really a tip, but I have NO MORE WIFI PROBLEMS!!!!!

What used to be a problem is that my wifi used to drop down to two bars, and i would have to turn airport on and off multiple times, in order for it to work. That no long is a problem!!!!

I AM SO HAPPY! THANK YOU APPLE!

This may not be new but it is the first time I have noticed it. When viewing documents, such as PDF's in preview, OS X remembers the place you are at in the document when you close it. Next time you open the document you pick up on the page you were at.

not so much a hint but for those who use other languages than the ~10 default you can add a custom dictionary by coping the .dic and .aff files to User/Library/Spelling and as soon as you reopen all programs spelling will be enabled for your language. For dictionaries you can use the ones of openoffice here :D

Is 64bit on by default? If your computer supports it, is there any reason why you shouldn't have it on?

Haha, it's not something you can turn off or on.

Actually, you can force the 64-bit kernel by holding down the "6" and "4" keys when booting up - I just did it on my notebook to see if it would work and indeed, if you run uname -a, it'll show it's running the x64 kernel. You can also verify it in System Profiler and by checking the kernel task in Activity Monitor.

To switch back to 32-bit kernel (as I have now done for normal use), hold down "3" and "2" when rebooting.

iChat undocumented features:

1. You are now able to select "Invitation to Share Screen" with specific buddies in alerts (useful because you can select "Auto Accept' to share screen).

Picture Below.

2. Status Menu is reordered (Offline/Invisible are at the top).
