ethernet or wireless isn't working on my mba after installing SL. :( restarted but still no go. gonna try repairing stuff to see if I can get something going.

So far I'm not too impressed. On my new MacPro, the OS and application speeds seem about the same as 10.5. Safari and QT 10 crashed upon launch. They seem to be working fine after that. The new QT is not QT Pro; there are very few export options. The trim feature is better than the old QT Pro version, though. QT's new black frame currently looks out-of-place since all the other windows frames are grey.

The CanoScan Toolbox for the Canon LIDE scanners no longer works. Neither does X Marks.

Fonts are def worse for me (mac pro + dell 2408wfp)

Its almost impossible to read unbold fonts. Text just looks horrid.

The checkbox in system pref does nothing at all :/

I had the same problem with my external display.

HERE IS THE FIX (for now):

Try opening Terminal and entering
“defaults -currentHost write -globalDomain AppleFontSmoothing -int 2″
(without the quotes)

hit return.

quit terminal...

A log-off or restart may be required.

MacFUSE and SteerMouse are currently giving me issues. I know SteerMouse is coming out with a 64 bit version soon (starting in 32 bit doesn't fix it not recognizing some buttons on my mouse), but I'm curious as to what'll happen with MacFUSE. Also, the default font seems to have changed ever so slightly. Not sure what caused that.

Edit: Booting into the 64 bit kernel is what caused SteerMouse to not work. MacFUSE also now mounts my drive in the 32 bit kernel, but it mounts using the network drive icon for some reason. Either way, it seems I can transfer files to it fine now.

Wow! Thank god for that, I almost wanted to put leopard back on here... made editing text a pain in the butt.

the only problem im having with my installation is that when i switch between spaces it seems to lag a little bit; other than that i'm rocking

Safari

Whenever I click on one of the "top sites" icons/preview-windows in Safari the graphics transition when it brings up the page doesn't work anymore... in 10.5 the preview image would simply grow bigger till it filled the window, then the web page would load on top of it... now I get these random vertical lines that pop up. They disappear when the web page loads, but still... seems kinda glitchy...

The other major bug I've noticed is that AVI movies I've taken with my little camera refuse to open from iPhoto. Double clicking does nothing. They open from finder just fine, but not from iPhoto.

Anyone else experiencing the same???

**I did not do a clean install, just followed the "upgrade" instructions.

I have lost all my menu bar icons, and I cannot get them back even after enabling them through system preferences.

My Drobo wouldn't wake after several hours of sleep; I had to power cycle the Drobo to get it back. I haven't had time yet to figure out if this is SL or not, but I will let it sleep tonight and see if it wakes OK in the morning. If not I will try the same thing on Leopard.

Activity Monitor won't stay hidden

Anyone else open activity monitor in the dock at startup? It used to startup hidden now it opens up the window everytime I reboot since installing snow leopard. Nothing critical but a little annoying. I tried removing it from the dock and putting it back but no luck.

In System Preferences>Mouse>Set Up Bluetooth Mouse, it's been searching for my BT mouse for quite a while now, even though the mouse works fine. If I shut off the mouse while it's searching, then turn it on again, it finds it momentarily but loses it before the mouse is activated. -1

When printing something on my Canon Pixma iP4300, a red flag identical to a mail flag pops up telling me how many jobs are in queue. +1

just posted this elsewhere. on my 1st gen uMBP when using the 4 finger gesture to show all windows or move windows off screen when trying to use the gesture to bring the windows back, randomly they spring off screen again, the only way then to bring it back is to click on the windows that are off screen. This is random and intermittent.

Macworld has that also as a bug. See at the bottom of the page under The new glitches

Defect DVD?

Doesn't install at all. I put the DVD in the drive, hear some spinning sound, and after a minute or so it ejects the DVD without any comment. Other DVDs are working fine. Tried it for three times, did a reboot--no way. First issue with a Mac software DVD for me.

Maybe I'll make the journey to the dealer tomorrow again for a change... :-(

SL completely ate my Canon printer installation. I posted a thread about getting it working again, which required re-installation of the original Canon drivers, etc, etc.

Oh ya, the PleaseSleep application, which is a life saver for getting the iMac to sleep when browser windows are open doesn't run at all under SL.

What is that all about? My iMac never has any trouble sleeping. Browser windows open stop yours from sleeping? What kind of browser? Windows open to specific pages?

Didn't that always happen?
Not for me, I know it's happened to alot of people in Leopard, but this is the first time I've encountered it.

Edit; disregard that, it's now decided to reach 100% after an hour and a half of finishing the charge. No idea why it took so long, I hope it's not like this every time.

File Icons all over the place?

Snow Leopard loaded, seems snappier. However do developers actually give feedback, am amazed that this is happening.

The icons in any of the finder windows are all over the place. They are not aligned at all.

Anyone else having this issue? You have to manually go in and have them re-aligned to make it pretty again.

Seems so simple and something you would not miss. Maybe there is something else causing the issue but just a silly thing really.

I had this issue too! I had to right click "keep arranged by" and pick an option to get them all lined up properly
