Well, my town called school off for tomorrow. I can't say that I'm surprised. I took a quick drive out at lunch hour and the roads here are in horrible condition. many of them are completely unplowed.

I'm not sure I understand why, did my town only hire a single snow plow for the storm?

20-30 inches of snow at one time isn't insignificant anywhere in the U.S. (then add to that the drifts from the wind). But the rush at the stores always amused me. Do people really run their cupboards, refrigerators, and freezers that low they can't survive a couple days without groceries?

I do.... BUT I never run for the store at the mention of bad weather either! Even in the 2013 Blizzard we were dug out in 24 hours.

What I want to know is, what on earth do people do with all the damn milk they buy?

storm was a complete no-show in NYC.

a few inches of snow. it was barely the biggest snow storm of the year, let alone 'historic'.
didn't prevent the administration to completely shut down the city for a day.

sledding with the kids in central park, however, was fun.

In buffalo we had 5+ feet of snow not counting drifting.

You guys are used to that much snow, I'm sure folks in Alaska are in the same boat, where as Boston being a 385 year old city with narrow winding streets that isn't used to that much snow, its been difficult.
