Bought AT&T model 6 Plus at Apple Store - paid full price. They sold it as device only - fully unlocked upon connecting to iTunes. No in store activation, no need for ATT account or iTunes account - just paid and left with 2 unopened boxes

Same here, I bought a 128GB 6S Plus and 64GB 6S device only. Walked out, both unlocked.

I'm in US for another 15 days. Then I'll unlock it with t-mobile card they gave and when I go to the other country, I just change the sim card in it and it will be working. Right?

You don't need to activate it with the T-Mobile card if you don't want to. You can activate it with your home SIM card, or with a prepaid SIM while you are here. I think the T-Mobile SIM provided is valid only for postpaid plans.

My 2 cents: Received a preordered (from apple.com) iPhone 6S today (version 1688, T-Mobile, full price), threw away the included T-mobile SIM, popped in my 3 UK SIM and activated. Never saw any “Congratulations…” screen. The phone seems to be working fine with both my own T-Mobile SIM and 3 UK SIM, (which roams to T-Mobile and AT&T in the US). I guess it means it’s unlocked? Unfortunately I have no other way to test it before going to China next week. Hope I don’t discover the truth the hard way ;)

thats unlocked.

I purchased an iPhone 6s direct from Apple.com and purchased the phone outright. I use Straight Talk (AT&T MNVO). I put my Straight Talk sim in, and I don't see the Cellular Settings in the Settings Menu. Is my phone not unlocked? I removed the Tmobile SIM before powering it on. I put in my Straight Talk SIM, plugged it into my computer with iTunes, and powered it on.

It never showed the "Unlocked" message that others reported. Is my phone not unlocked? Am I screwed?

I also tried to backup the phone to iTunes, and then restored it.

Thanks that was my impression too. Does anyone have the actual Tmobile 6S + from Apple and confirm that it is 100% carrier unlocked?
I have the T-Mobile phone, opened the package put in the SIM card from my AT&T 6+, powered on the phone and AT&T LTE shows up in the upper left corner. All good.

Question for people on JoD:

Are our phones currently unlocked? If no, how long do we have to wait until we request Tmobile to unlock for us? Do phones on the JoD program need to be fully paid off to be unlocked?

Thanks bunch..

Did you read the thread? All of your questions have already been answered.

So I'm assuming that if I buy the verizon one it will also work on Sprint? Is that. Not the case for the Att version if it's unlocked?

Well thanks everybody for your comments then I'll order full-paid T-Mobile 6S iphones online for my family and friends. Great !

I have a TMobile 6S+ and it is 100% carrier unlocked. Bought it at Apple. Took it to MetroPCS 20 minutes later and activated it.

You can see the MetroPCS in the upper left of my screenshot.

Hi,

now that all of you received your new 6s in USA, who among you tried different sim cards from other countries ? I really would like to be 100% sure to order "unlocked" iphones 6s at full rate from Apple. I'm waiting since the pre-order day a confirmation that some device are sim-free. I'm leaving in Switzerland, thanks you.
  • T-mobile ?
  • Verizon ?
Thanks you for your time lucky iphone 6s owners!

Have a nice day,
RB

No doubt the full priced T-Mo 6S+ are unlocked as my ATT SIM is working perfect.

I bought the T-Mobile 6s Plus 64GB from the Apple Store for $99 down using carrier financing. It's unlocked right out of the box.
