iP1 and 3GS and went over 200mb one time since 07'. With iP4, it's scary. I am not even streaming pandora or others, I did however do quite a bit of speedtesting and downloading some apps off wifi.

Current data (not show in the paid bills chart) says 2.1g so far this billing period. WTF? Good thing I kept unlimited-

Anyone know why this is using so much more data than the previous gen's? It appears that it is a data pig.

I am thinking the same thing. I never used over 159MB on the 3G and now I'm using more than twice as much data! I think this is BS because where I work I can barely get in a data signal and most of my other use is on the home or gym LAN. I don't stream Pandora either.

So far I'm @ 150MB for the month and I have unlimited data. I'd rather be safe than sorry though so I won't downgrade.

About 3 GB of usage here-- most I've ever done in one month after a year and a half with AT&T. I think it was because I was compulsively checking my data speeds with the speedtest app. Normally I hit only about 600 MB a month.

I've had my phone since launch day and it says 740 MB. I'm curious to know for those of you that have multiple gigabytes used, what were you generally using your phone to do? I feel like I've used my phone heavily as well but still haven't even come close to my 2 GB/month limit and it's been about a month and a half.

Tethering maybe? There was a user here in another thread that mentioned he didn't have any internet service and solely used tethering for that purpose.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A306 Safari/6531.22.7)

I use a little over 700MB. My usage seems to have gone up since I got my iPhone 4.

300Mb last month. Everywhere I go has wifi (home, work, friends, library, restaurants, bars, etc), and it's way faster than 3G data. I use 3G data when streaming music on my morning drive, or watching some impromptu video clips if I'm out walking around with buddies.

For those racking up the high data usages (as in over 5GB)... why are you not using wifi?

mobile.*********, probably

wife and I share a plan. I use it mainly for email but do surf the web a fair amount. still only averaging .5-1gb month. and that's with me streaming pandora quite a bit while at work.

I use mine (post #3, now 9.3GB) for heavy Internet browsing, lots of streaming media, and for downloading big files because my DSL has a small cap, very light to no tethering.
