One merely needs to goto the iPad section of macrumors if you want to see people reporting problems. It's constant, and while some people are repeated complaining many new members are wondering in reporting problem which is very unusually for iOS.

iOS 7 on my 4S has been great. iOS 7 on my iPad 3 has been "ok". I returned my iPad Air because iOS 7 was terrible. My main use of my iPad is Safari and that's where it gave me the most trouble.

Once 7.1 comes out I'm probably going to look into an rMini, maybe another Air. So it's not like I've completely given up and bought 20 Samsung gadgets.

Major bugs, not many apart from the GUI rye springing and memory issues with safari. But these are on ALL iOS devices running 7.0.x so don't worry if you use your device infrequently or are blind to the issues.

Don't worry though, the bugs that are imperceptible to you are fixed in 7.1

Don't get me wrong, i certainly see those issues on the ipad air I use occasionally. But I don't see any of them on my iPhone 5 running 7.0.4 having daily usage times of around 7 hours (That's what the iphone tells me ;)). I installed iOS 7 fresh onto it, because I had issues with the compass. Since then it works like a charm. All I want to say is: Speak for yourself, iOS7 works great for some of us :)

Like he said though, just because you don't notice it doesn't mean there isn't an underlying problem.

For example nin.com can make safari crash on any iOS device currently. This is probably one of the most well documented and where beta testers have been trying 7.1 (which still crashes btw).

But like me you probably don't goto nine inch nails webpage. So like me iOS and Safari on 32 bit devices is pretty stable. However if with just a change of musical taste without a change in software or hardware you could be pretty peeved.

iOS 7.0.5 has already been released, but it wasn't much of an update and didn't fix or edit anything in the software. This update corrects network provisioning for some iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c models sold in China.

There is big talks that iOS 7.1 will be shipped out via OTA and iTunes sometime in March, which isn't too far away from now.

Here's what's going to happens because people do this every time...

You're going to whine and whine and blah blah about how iOS 7.0.4 is horrible and so buggy and all, and complain about how 7.1 isn't out yet.

Then you're all going to nitpick everything out of 7.1 too and repeat what you did win 7.0.4.

NO SOFTWARE IS PERFECT.

Sure, but that doesn't mean that users should be quiet about issues they encounter, especially those that are bad and/or related to fundamental things like stability or performance.

I agree.

If I had to jump through a thousand hoops and stand on my head to make my Air crash I could have lived with that.

If safari crashes for no apparent reason and I lose all the input I entered repeatedly then I think it's ok to bitch a little. We are talking Apple here with the most advanced OS and it "just works".

I'm not too hopeful anyway. Five months for a battery drain fix? Five months for a Safari crashing fix? Five months for numerous other fixes? This 7.1 release will do precious little I'm sure. If they were going to fix things they would have done it by now.

That makes no sense..The reason the update takes so long is because it does take a while to go through and fix a lot of the issues..if it only took them 2 weeks to release, there would be hardly any fixes in the update..

I am running iOS 7.1 beta 5 on both my iPhone 5s and my iPad Air. My iPad Air had numerous crashes each day from both Safari and other apps. Since installing iOS 7.1 beta 5, I've had 0 crashes.

All of those Low Memory sightings in Diagnostics? No more.

7.1 is a great update.

iOS6 never needed so long to get fixes out to the customer. I'm shocked that we have been left high & dry for so long and with zero acknowledgement from Apple. This iOS7 debacle has really turned me away from the company to be honest and I was a die-hard fan previously.

iOS 6.1 was released at the end of January of last year, over 4 months after iOS 6 was released. Many users, including myself, had many issues, including severe battery drain, up until the release of iOs 6.1.

This is nothing new, and every year everyone freaks out. Such short memories people have..

I'm pretty sure that I wasn't left for five months with severe battery drain when iOS6 was released.

Just like now, many people are not experiencing severe battery drain. I have the same, if not better battery life, on iOS 7 than I did on iOS 6. And it's the same for many others.

Each time an update is released, some people experience worse battery life, and some experience better. There were tons of threads and complaints back after iOS 6 was released of terrible battery life, etc. It's not new to iOS 7. And many users didn't get relief from battery drain until iOS 6.1 was released over 4 months later. This will be similar when iOS 7.1 is released to the public.

With iOS6 the battery drain was user-fixable for me by a clean install and setting up as a new phone etc. This has not worked with iOS7 and the many reports from users with 'improved' battery life suggests to me that a fix isn't coming. If Apple acknowledged that there was a severe battery drainage problem and that they were working on a fix, then I would be a lot happier. Five months of experiencing three hours' less usage per battery cycle is a joke. I have done eight clean installs and spent way too long on this forum trying to fix the problem. I hate Apple's silence on this matter. Hate it.

The fact is that iOS 6 battery drain, for many, was not solved by clean installs but rather relief was brought by the release of 6.1.

And I can tell you, from running iOS 7.1, that battery life and overall performance is greatly improved. What you choose to think is up to you.

Well if you get three hours more runtime per charge cycle and Safari doesn't crash anymore then I look forward to 7.1

iOS6 never took five months to sort out the battery life. Also, Apple should have delayed iOS7 until it was functioning correctly. I don't want to suffer five+ months using inferior beta software.

As I mentioned, yes, many users DID have to wait almost 5 months for the release of 6.1 to sort out battery life. And also, many more users would have complained about Apple not releasing iOS 7 than complain now about battery life. Either way, this is life. 7.1 should be very welcome for many users.

You think maybe its YOUR device or possibly some particular app you have? I mean if 8 clean installs yield the same results think maybe its something else? Maybe try 10. See if thats the magic number to solve it :) Kidding aside, iOS 7 and 7.1 does not have an inherit battery drain flaw. Probably 99% of the issues with battery drain are due to a particular app or way a user is using the device (like GPS running all day or WhatsApp always on or Facebook). The actual OS is not the cause or every one running it would have the same issues. There have been a few instances through the years when a particular iOS has some bug causing battery issues, (iOS 5 comes to mind and 5.0.1 was released a week or so later to address it). Also one of the iOS 6 versions had an exchange bug creating an issue that was addressed with a .0.x update. Anyway with that said 7 has has no such reported specific issues. At any rate 7.1 does indeed address a lot of the other flaws and such and it certainly will be a worthwhile update. The battery threads regarding 7.1 are all positive for the most part.
BTW look back in time and you will a lot of "iOS x caused my battery to drain" articles and posts for pretty much every iOS release ever. Every new release, every bug release and every minor release. Its definitely not a new issue with iOS7 is all I am saying. Anyway I would look at maybe having your device tested or trying a restore and not installing all your apps and see if it works in its native state. That may tell you where the problem really is. Luck to you with your discovery process.

I don't mind the waiting on the iPhone 5 at all, iOS 7 runs super stable and no glitches at all.

But on the iPad Air I had to get my undid registered because I just could not STAND the broken animations with the five finger close gesture. It was just so awful.

I'm glad I had beta 7.1 on my iPad Air since day one. Otherwise I would have wanted to return it.
Same on iPad 3. Just awfully slow animations and broken ones as well. It actually was the main reason why I got the iPad Air and then everything was exactly broken the same way! Extremely frustrating.

Yep, pay the $5 per device and get on the beta if your having IOS7 issues.

I really haven't had much on any kind of wait up to this point since I just got the 5S about a week and a half ago. It has been super stable with no glitches at all on IOS 7 either.

Not sure what 7.1 is going to do for me then to tell the truth. I guess I should recommend that Apple release the ip6 sooner! :)
