I think the OP means unlocked ones

Yeah, like I was saying in another thread if you put both the tmobile and att unlocked models side by side you wouldn't be able to tell them apart? Why does it feel like the tmobile model is frowned upon?Does it work on AT&T's LTE network? I thought it was a different band than T-Mobile's?
Is this true everybody says they won't sell it for full price? Why not?![]()

just ask AT&T full price. It will come unlocked. Been doing that since the 4S
I don't know why there's so much mystery with it. Not even the Apple Store employees know.
I once went to the store to get one for my father. He asked for an unlocked, and they automatically said no. I asked for the AT&T full price, and they warned that it wouldn't come unlocked and that mine was unlocked by mistake lol. We opened my father's right there in front of him and we even put his international sim card. The poor seller was so surprised.
I am not taking about instore talking about via online when they're released for salejust ask AT&T full price. It will come unlocked. Been doing that since the 4S

It changes by the minute sheesh lolActually what happened last year with the 5s, they did sell the unlocked version at launch but then it was removed.
If i do buy it outright, there would be no 2 year contract deal right ?Stop spread rumors. Every year this same discussion happens. Walk into the store and buy it outright. I do it every year.
Correct. If i do buy it outright, there would be no 2 year contract deal right ?
No I just want it without a contract I'll be putting it on AT&T. So they did sell full retail priced AT&T 5s last year? ..

No I just want it without a contract I'll be putting it on AT&T. So they did sell full retail priced AT&T 5s last year? Some folks are saying it was only tmobile that was offered that way...unless you guys are talking about the same model?

I just don't want my monthly bill elevated at all and be stuck to a contract. I rather pay a slightly smaller bill and not worry about paying it off.Why not do the NEXT plan vs laying out full price today?
Yea, will probably just try my luck in the store. I wanted to purchase this way online as soon as they go for sale though which is why I made the thread. I kind of feel like my local apple will sell out fast on the day of release. I also hate dealing with the long lines usually order online but i'm not doing a subsidized phone so its tricky as we see with all the different answers.I 100% went into the Apple Store on launch day and purchased 2 64Gb iPhone 5s' for AT&T at full price off contract for $849 each. I walked out of the store with them in the box unopened and nothing to do with a contract.
Now ... Tmobile's iphone is the unlocked model that can work on all GSM networks. This model was not available launch day last year.
There is no contract with Next. It's simply spreading the full price payment of the phone into monthly playlets (without interest) instead of paying it all at once in one big chunk.I just don't want my monthly bill elevated at all and be stuck to a contract. Its a new type of contract. The moment you leave att you have to pay the phone in full as per the next agreement. The old contract you would have to pay the etf as per the agreement the moment you terminated service. There is no contract with Next. What about Verizon model device only?
Not available at full retail online. Apple will allow full retail purchases in their stores.
Well, it's a financing agreement. In comparison to buying the phone outright it's mainly a difference of paying for the phone at once right away or paying for it monthly (and perhaps paying off the remaining balance earlie if needed or desired). Its a new type of contract. if you qualify for a subsidized upgrade, there is no option for you to buy the phone for full price. but if you're not upgrade eligible, the apple online store will certainly allow you to buy at full retail.
You should always be able to buy the phone outright for full price if you want to whether or not you are up for some upgrade or not.if you qualify for a subsidized upgrade, there is no option for you to buy the phone for full price. but if you're not upgrade eligible, the apple online store will certainly allow you to buy at full retail.
