Well, I'm not buying on launch day to flip ASAP. I normally hold onto my phones for 2 years, sell, then upgrade. I was just wondering if the Verizon model will get me much more than the Tmobile version when I eventually sell. I'd rather not camp out on launch day and if I can order from the comfort of my own home, then I'll do that instead, even if I won't get it on day 1.

I'd say Verizon ones get around $50-$100 more on average when compared to the unlocked AT&T/T-Mobile model. Simply because more people know the verizon ones are unlocked, and also it's ability to be used on Verizon, AT&T & T-Mobile rather then just the last two.

I was wondering the same thing which is kind of why I made this thread.

I'll probably try my luck in a store then, I'm assuming this verizon model goes pretty darn fast though right probably some of the first sold out usually? If I miss then I'll just get whatever they have AT&T/Tmobile.

What I've seen is somewhere closer to a $25 premium on the Verizon models. But, that's for used phones. Maybe for something new-in-the-box, I can see a higher resale markup.

Nowadays, I don't have the patience for a launch day lineup. Rather just log onto Apple's website when it goes live, make the purchase, and wait a few days for the phone to arrive. Would be nice though if Apple made the "device-only" versions available online. As things stand, the T-Mobile version is the only online full retail option at launch, and those were the first ones to sell out when the 5s went on sale.

If you buy "device only" from the Apple Store does the come SIM-less? What's the process for having that new phone replace your old one, both the number and on your account?

I've only purchased subsidized up to now, so I'm wondering what will be involved in getting a "device only" iPhone 6 up and on-network.

It will come with the SIM card of your choosing, ready to be activated on the network.

If you buy a GSM device only iPhone it will be the standard GSM model with an AT&T or T-Mobile unactivated SIM. If you buy the CDMA+GSM US model, it will come with a Verizon SIM, however, it can be used with any US carrier besides Sprint (or Sprint MVNO's if I am not mistaken.)

If you already have an account with a phone using nano-SIM, just put your existing SIM in and voila, unlocked iPhone with existing service.

If you do not have an account, you activate on iTunes using your included SIM card.

It is a very simple process; remember that you are paying full price for the phone, you can do what you want with it. :)

Duh. It never occurred to me that I could just pull the SIM from my 5 and put it in a 6. It appears I was overcomplicating it for myself.

Thanks for the info.

No way does it fetch you close to $100 more. More like $25 to $50.

Agreed. re-sale values seem almost the same across all devices. Mostly because most people have no idea that Verizon phones are unlocked. The 16GB give you the best "value" if you plan on selling every year, due to its initial lower cost.

When they're sold out, they're all valuable. But this time, in this case, the highest end one which includes sapphire will be the one to buy and sell out faster. Just like it was the gold color last year.

Please somebody help here with this because it is not very clear to me. I live in Argentina but I'll be in US on vacation in October and I want to buy an unlocked/sim free/no strings attached iPhone 6 to use it back in my country with my current plan.

These are Argentina's bands
GSM 850/1900 MHz
HSDPA 850/1900 MHz
LTE Band 4 - 1700 / 2100 Mhz
LTE Band 17 - 700 Mhz

So which is the model I should buy? Should I take my company's nano sim card to the Apple Store to activate anything?
Thanks

Just buy the Verizon model "device only" at an Apple Store, Verizon store, Best Buy, or really anywhere you can find one in stock when you visit and you'll be fine. It will have all the bands you need and will be unlocked.
