This is what Im talking about!!

It appears Apple was way more conservative. You can easily treat them like ip68 and it will be fine.

Don't you give a **** about the environment? How about you not waste water and just shower while you're in the shower. Clean your dirty ass and get out. Your precious iphone and its endless internet will be waiting for you.

Quite a few MR members shower with their Apple Watch but that's easier to do as it's tethered to the wrist. Are you really going to risk the iPhone flying out of your soapy hands?

No. What on earth would I need to do on my phone that couldn't wait a few mins while I shower? Also, the phone is already slippery enough when dry. I be worried about dropping it.

All that being said, I'm thrilled not to have to worry about if it happens to get wet in the rain or splashed at the pool!

I never will, but I would if for some reason I really had to keep watching something on YouTube or whatever. I'll bet it won't be long before we see shower caddies with built in iPhone holders.

If the thing survives over 8 hours in an aquarium, a shower isn't going to phase it.

Now I stop my shower and move my phone to another room if I've left it in the bathroom. With the new water resistance I would t bother. Mind you I do t actually "use" the phone in the shower.

I would not take it in the shower. However, if they come out with a iPad that has ipx I would definitely buy one and would use it while in the hot tub. Have a 1st gen mini with a waterproof case I do this with already.

I've already dunked my phone in a tub of water and it was totally fine. Did it twice. This thing is great

If you are showering longer than 1 or 2 songs you are showering wrong. I cannot see the point.

Would not the HOT water affect it even through it is water resistant? Surly it was made to stand being used in the rain or being accidentally dropped in the toilet ( which for some reason that I cannot fathom a lot of people seem to do ). Makes me wonder what they get up to in the bog.

Remember, although we have seen multiple online videos of the iPhone 7 exceeding IP67 standards, having water pelted at it and steam(which can seep through cracks better than water) around it are 2 totally different breeds of water exposure.

I wouldn't gauge the iPhone 7 water resistance from one video. It's rated IP67 and not IP68 for a reason. You might have those that swim with it in 8 foot pools and be perfectly fine, and those that ruin their phones in only 5 feet.
