Exactly what I just did. I called my local store and pled my case with no luck. My girlfriend went up there and changed their minds (assuming she showed some nip) the manager said he would hold one 64gb 6+ sspace gray for me! Don't even have to wait in line!

As someone who worked in a call center through college, their manager could be standing right over their shoulder, they're not taking your call. You can "escalate" and kick and scream all you want, but it'll be 24-48 hours before you get to hear there's nothing that can be done.

It sucks, but you'd be better off waiting until after the hoopla of Friday dies down (you weren't getting a launch phone anyway) and trying to have a CIVIL discussion then. People who think they get somewhere by "raising hell" (politely or not) were always the ones put on hold the longest.

She told me she was going to swing by att and fix it after she got off work. I told her not to waste her gas or breath on em. Called me back 30 min later and I'm in better shape then I was before the screw up

I was on the phone trying to sort out contact info and billing for my 6+. After a while she says "good news! I canceled your order and placed another" that was her solution to getting all my info to match. My orgianal ship date was October 2nd. Now I'm towards the end of November. I am at a loss for words.

I wouldn't wait too long...i don't think they are technically allowed to hold the phone, so go ASAP.

that sorta happened to me at the T-Mobile store in Germany when the iPhone 5 came out. there were like 10 people in front of me with a reservation ticket and i just randomly tried my luck not expecting anything and he just smiled at me and hid two iPhones in his desk for 2 hours til i came back with the money. I guess he was out for the commission (well technically he would have made enough money that day either way so maybe he just liked me lol)

I don't know the OP's story, so I can't +1 that. But people being their own worst enemy is exactly what I think when I see all the posts of "I'm gong to call..." "I just had a live chat and they will..." "I am going to order two then cancel one..." The more you monkey with the system, call, and badger the more you are asking for someone to fumble finger your order right into the 'does not compute, cancel order, next' bit bucket. Short of calling for a big reason, like not getting a follow up confirmation email, there is little to be gained. People on the forums here probably know more about the situation than any carrier's call room.
If the OP's situation was not of their making, then they have my sympathy, life can be tough. If they upset the apple cart, then the phone will come, and they'll have the warmth of delayed gratification. (Seriously, once you get it, the honeymoon is over and you are looking forward to 1 year 330 days from now for your next fix. I know I am ;)

My card was canceled due to activity on the card. Called to swap it for another and the rep thought it was easiest to cancel and start over. Talked to other reps since. That was not necessary
 
Bank deactivated my cc because of fradualnt activity yesterday. Was calling to add another card. If you don't have anything helpful to say move on to another thread
You're just a bit confused, the title of your thread blasted AT&T, when in reality as you finally admitted it was a security issue your bank handled for you. Cause for you to be grateful. Then being the victim you are... you attempt to get rude with me. That never works. Look at the bright side, you learned something. Or not.
