att locked 3g 8gig used for 4 months, mint condition, posted on craigslist, sold in 20 min for $375. had 7 offers in 15 minutes. this is san diego. avg. 8gig price range for good-great condition imo is 350-400. good value still
craigslist=local only, less value, faster sell, no buyer satisfaction reassurance
ebay=global potential for possible buyers, more value, slower sell, paypal reassurance, nasty fees for seller!!!
btw: should they decide to price cut the new iphone as has been speculated, the value for the current 3g iphones will suffer slightly. with the value to cost ratio lowered, and the marketing emphasis on a newer technology/features to the common consumer, the new iphone purchases will sky rocket, and the demand for iphones in the used market for iphones will decrease. the only exceptions are ebay (international) and unlocked iphones-the niche in the used market that will still thrive (for now), for all those non att US iphoners. v2 and v3 may be identical in function once the 3.0 firmware is introduced, but apple is one of the best in convincing the consumer that newer is always better. good luck with sales folks!
