I want an update more for all of the bugs that are in the OS, especially with syncing with iTunes (such as no playlists that are in folders get synced.

let's get real guys, there has been exactly 1 full day going on 2 since the issues were reported, how do you expect them to a hotfix done and tested in that time frame? would you rather they release something that wasn't fully tested and then have it brick everyone's phone?

i remember during the 3.0 release and such that there were hotfixes within a week or so so just give them time to work it out.

and really you guys should be taking what a CSR on the phone tells you with a grain of salt, sure they work for the company but they are the lowest on th totem pole, they know nothing, so taking them at their word regarding corporate policy without any other evidence is a 50/50 proposition at best

They said a statement by the end of the day friday? That is a lot different than a software update.

Agreed. I wasn't expecting a fix last Friday or today. I know you cannot push a patch out that quick unless they already knew about it and the patch was almost done testing.

But Monday is almost done, and they still have yet to even make a statement.

There just seems to be no collective, consistent voice from Apple about this. Every CSR says something different, you would at least thing they would have a proper statement for the CSRs on the issue.

For starters monday is not almost done unless you happen to be on the west coast. And when apple has events (i.e WWDC) and others they are scheduled during pacific time not any other time zone.

The statement will come when Apple is ready, and not a moment sooner :apple:

One thing to note is that despite the attention and interest here in the forums (and elsewhere in the Internet) there is currently very little coverage of the reception issue in the mainstream press (see Google News, for example). If and when this changes, you can be sure that there will be a statement from Apple... :)

OK, I am not going to argue with you at what time "the day is almost done". I am on the west coast btw and have the whole time zone concept down.

Thank you. This is the problem with most online reports. People tend to over exaggerate facts.

5PM "quitin time" is about 1hr 20mins away. I'd say that qualifies as "almost done". Also, thats 5pm PDT.

Still Waiting

Kinda dissapointed. I do realize they are not going to release an update until it's ready, however I just feel like I can't enjoy my phone until I know I'm going to keep it. Anyone else in the same boat?

I feel the same way. Though I love my new iPhone, whenever I try to use it (locally) by holding it in the palm of my left hand, I lose bars every time. I was in Chicago this past weekend and fortunately my iPhone worked fine no matter how I held it. :D However, upon my return home, the same problem with losing bars also returned. :(

Exactly its a small amount of users having this issue. But to listen to some people you would think that it was all 1.7 million or so iPhones sold. Funny thing no report of groups of people going to any of the large apple stores to return their iPhone.

Guess it's just limited to the greek trifecta

God, I just hope they don't get the two mixed up!
I don't know, my car's dirty. I wouldn't turn down a free car wash from anyone. And, besides, Catherine Zeta Jones . . . soaking wet. It can only be a good thing.

Steve . . . and "jobs," on the other hand.

Come on guys! What´s the matter with you?

If the phone is defected, go and change it!

Plenty of people have proven that there are phones that doesn´t have this HARDWARE FLAW!

I´m not gonna accept a defected phone.

I have tried... twice. I don't have an Apple store near me, so I have to deal with the phone CSRs. Both times, Friday and today, they told me they are not replacing phones with the antenna because there is a statement and fix on the way. Any minute, day, week now.

Wrong. It is not anywhere near 5PM on the West Coast. Why don't you wiki your time zones

Huh? Did you read his post? He said it was 1hr 20 minutes from 5pm. Then he specified 5pm pacific time (although it should have been PDT, not PST).

He posted at 6:40pm EDT, or 1 hour 20 minutes from 8pm EDT, which is 5pm PDT.
Looks like you need to wiki your time zones.

Everyone I know - in multiple states - has the same issue on their iPhone 4.

It's probably gonna take more than a weekend to fix this issue. I bet they are field testing 4.01 right now.

There´s also lots of people that you don´t know that don´t have these defected phones.

So it´s a FACT that there are BROKEN phones and fully working phones. No one should accept broken phones!

But I guess it´s your right to keep the broken phone, if that is your wish.

Your choise people.

Well don't blow a wad then. It's still not the end of the business day as much as you guys would like it to be. I guess patience is out of the question eh?

I'm not blowing a wad, you're the one who seemed to be getting a bit aggressive, telling him to wiki his time zones. I was merely correcting your incorrect and arrogant reply with the same respect you gave to the person you replied to.

Plus, I never said it couldn't be released after the end of the business day. Many of the betas have been released after the end of the business day (although I don't know how many OS updates have been). I personally don't care whether the release is today or later this week, I almost never hold my phone in my left hand, or in a position to drop the signal while on a call.
