I put iOS 7 on my son's iPhone 4S the day after it was released to developers and he took it to school the next day. Apparently he was swarmed at school from people gawking over it. Everyone says they want it and some even wanted him to ask me to "hook them up".

I'm taking a wild swing here but my guess is mostly everyone will love it. :)

I am happy to see the OP's excitement and I hope they fix all the keyboards though that is the big annoying thing for now
To clarify a little more on what others' have already said, the keyboard gets baked into the app when it's compiled. If that happened for iOS 6 then of course the new keyboard won't appear in iOS 7. The developers have a choice of what keyboard to use (dark vs light vs web). It's not an iOS 7 system default across the board.

lol! I installed it for a friend (we're both in high school; difference: I make apps) and that's the exact reaction we got. I think it's just such a huge paradigm shift that people, regardless of how bad some icons will look here and there, will absolutely love it.

It gives the "new phone experience" without the $649 price tag :) On the flipside, people get really disappointed when I tell them that their original iPhone or 3rd gen iPod touch is not supported... even though their device hasn't been supported on updates for years...

It would be really ignorant to think you can get iOS 7 on an original iPhone. Not only has it not been supported in years by Apple, you can't even download any modern apps on it because it's stuck on iOS 3.

Then you wouldn't believe the ignorance of many of today's high schoolers actually! :D Here's to your future, America!

I've come to love iOS7 over the last few days, but a better analogy would be upgrading from Windows 2000, to Windows XP.

It's basically Windows 2000, skinned with whatever design styles are popular at the time, with some added features and fine tuning under the hood.

iOS 7 is certainly a massive step in the right direction.

Still want to see it jailbroken and still waiting for a 5" iPhone. Once that happens I can dump my recently acquired Samsung S4.

The Sammy is a very competent device but Android is still unable to match the overall fluidity of iOS. Yes, Android offers greater flexibility and functionality but where some might find Apple constricting, Andriod is fast and loose by comparison with the net result being too many options, too many choices, too many settings at the expense of stability and a intuitive UI.

All I know is that tens of millions of people that have never heard of ios 7 are going to be pissed when they wake up midweek only to find that their phone looks completely different, having hastily pushed the "update" button the night before without caring to read the changelog. It doesn't matter how good ios 7 is (i personally like it), this is going to be a big fail IMO.
Firstly I don't agree with you that it will be a big fail but agree there will be a lot of people who are not clued up on what to expect. Most of my family have iPhones and I've mentioned several times that iOS 7 will be very different to what they are used to. They have no idea really and didn't know it was even in the pipeline. People like us who follow tech and read about this sort of thing are in the minority in all seriousness. Although I haven't used a beta version of iOS 7, I have read a lot about it and don't feel it is too different that a user will be completely lost. It'll take time to get used to it and things have undoubtedly moved, but I can't agree it'll be a definite failure. Like yourself though I think I like what I have seen and am looking forward to the change. I just can't wait for my Mum to ring me up on Friday to tell me her iPhone has gone weird. :p

A refreshing thread though, nice to see someone being positive and a little more constructive about iOS 7 rather than reading how awful it looks in some people subjective opinions.

from amazement/excitement.

You guys don't even understand, this is like going from Windows 95 to Windows 7 (not even XP.)

It is a complete and total rehaul of the iOS we all have grown to love while STILL keeping the core iOS functionality the same yet ADDING new and improved ways of managing your iOS devices. Steve would DEFINATELY BE PLEASED.

Just the animations, the fluidness, and most surprisngly, how quick I was able to pick up on things. I'll be honest, prior to installing the GM, I had not run any of the betas so wasn't sure what I was getting myself into but I had nothing to fear at all, iOS7 is VERY user friendly.

I just love the overall look of it so much, it blends in well with our modern life.

Things i've noticed:
I don't get where everyone is saying theres lag. I experienced no lag whatsoever. I mean it does take a second to get to the homescreen but I actually love that cuz of how it does it, the icons popping in or whatever. Kind of reminds me of launchpad a bit.

With that being said, I feel like it ran the best on my iPhone 5, second best on my iPad 4, and there was very slight delay on my iPod Touch 5th gen. But don't get me wrong, it's nothing even worth mentioning. HOWEVER, I should also state that these were all fresh installs of iOS7 with no apps/music/data or anything at all so who knows how performance will be in real world use.

But in summary, I just have to say that Apple really brought it home with this release. This is iOS for a new generation but it's still the iOS we've all grown to love since the release of the original iPhone back in 2007.

If I had to critique anything at all, (and this would be very hard to do,) it would be to make the text a tiny bit bigger or at least give that option (and it may already have the option, I didn't bother checking) I just noticed when I was reading the descriptions for my tv show episodes, the text was very tiny :)

Oh and finally I also have to say that iTunes Radio is FREAKIN AWESOME! They integrated it so tightly and beautifully with the music player and iTunes. Everything just works together so well.

Bravo Apple! You hit a home run yet again!

TLDR: iOS7 is amazeballs

Ive been with the iOS 7 since the first beta like many. I have nothing bad to say about it really. I love the backrounds, new sounds, just the overall look of it. Mind you the only complaint I have is the lack of split second fluidity when opening and closing apps. And Ive already posted about this before. I understand it is because I have an iPhone 5 (which shouldnt make that much of a difference) and primarily because Apple made the transitions that way. I just wish it was a little faster that's all. I am glad that you love it, I am a little surprised that you find it really fast. There isn't really a lag so to speak, its just the way the animations are and I find it quite annoying. But that is me. I for the most part enjoy the iOS 7 very much and have tried to switch back to iOS 6 in the beginning but could never find myself to stay there. I always came running back to iOS 7!

It seems I'm one of the very few here who doesn't have iOS7 yet
I'm not a dev , just the usual user but I've been reading a lot about it and can't wait until wednesday or rather thursday as in Europe it will not arrive before at least early evening…

Just wondering about something , will iTunes 11.1 come out before or at the same time as iOS7 ? If it come at the same time, is it better to download it before updating iOS7 ?

Sorry but I just can't remember what happened the other times...

Fakeclockup will fix that, just one good reason why jailbreak for iOS 7 is imperative.

I installed the iOS 7 GM when it was released, and I'm still a bit excited by it. :)

It's definitely better in experience than in screenshots, and I finally understand the people saying they can't possibly go back to iOS 6 now. :p

If you still haven't got it, I wouldn't really bother and just wait for Wednesday to happen. Various forums and Twitter will explode from all different opinions. Brace yourselves...

But has the OP stopped shaking yet?

This is how I imagine OP:

I feel like I just saw bigfoot.

They ever so rare, positive Apple thread. You don't see these out in the wild much here on MacRumors forums.

Joking aside, I too really like iOS 7 it does make iOS 6 look like a dinosaur. I could never go back to 6 at this point.

Try to figure this one out by yourself in five seconds, without reading any tips on the web: how do you delete a single message from the Messages app?

I know right? I feel like I ruined the fun for myself by installing it so early. But I guess I just had the same fun just earlier than most people. I must say beta 1 on the iPhone 5 was pretty damn stable.

Hahah Amen to that!

But we do had our fair share of fun and playing with it... To me, the "new" factor now is just the same as if I still have iOS 6 on. But that's just expected
