Try to figure this one out by yourself in five seconds, without reading any tips on the web: how do you delete a single message from the Messages app?

That took me about a second to work out. Remains consistent with how I would delete apps.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but I'm as happy as the next guy to have installed iOS 7, but shaking...? Really? ok. coooool.

After I installed iOS7 for the first time, I couldnt control my urge so I had to spank a monkey cause my gf wasnt here to take care of me.

Why did you have to spank yourself??? iOS 7 does it for you - leave it on vibrate suitably and call yourself.....

Now that would be excitement.....

I am VERY pleased with it -- it's elegant, but manages to be bright and colorful at the same time. I would hate to go back to 6.

I AM hating being back on iOS 6.....

Sold my 5 in preparation for the 5S and have been on a 4S running iOS 6 for the last two weeks roughly....

I didn't realize how much I liked iOS 7 until it was gone. iOS 6 seems so stuffy and old now...

And the 5 >>>>>>> 4S. Haven't been this excited for a new iPhone in a while (and I'm usually pretty excited about ANY device release). Friday can't get here soon enough!

I guess I am missing it but, what is wrong with that keyboard? It looks fine to me.

It's the old iOS keyboard, not the iOS 7 one:

Fakeclockup will fix that, just one good reason why jailbreak for iOS 7 is imperative.

I might end up doing that. When is it going to be ready for jailbreak? I don't want the jailbreak that you have to plug it in each time your phone dies.

Just updated the wife's phone, at first she was "WTF is this"
But an hour later she said 'Its Fantastic".

This was basically me also, minus being your wife part. lol. I definitely didn't like the look of the icons when they were first revealed. I installed the GM over the weekend and was still kind of meh until I really started playing with it.I really like the new email app. Most things I got used to fairly quickly. Control Center is great...I missed it from my JB phone days. There's room for improvement, yes, but overall, I'd say it's more solid than I expected it to be.

My only major complaint is lack of contrast. Some stock apps just look stark and boring. A little to much white for my taste. Control Center is fantastic but needs the ability to edit to ones personal use.

This is a refreshing thread. I am so sick of people complaining about the little things, its nice to see someone appreciating the hard work that someone did, for a FREE OS update, that you don't have to download.

Bravo OP. Bravo.

Don't you think that those "free" updates are included in the device's price?

Probably this, note that it is iOS 7.

what app is this?

All apps that haven't been compiled to run on iOS 7 keep their old design. That includes the keyboard. If you think about it, an iOS 6 designed app with an iOS 7 keyboard would look kind'a weird in more than a few cases.

from amazement/excitement.

You guys don't even understand, this is like going from Windows 95 to Windows 7 (not even XP.)

It is a complete and total rehaul of the iOS we all have grown to love while STILL keeping the core iOS functionality the same yet ADDING new and improved ways of managing your iOS devices. Steve would DEFINATELY BE PLEASED.

Just the animations, the fluidness, and most surprisngly, how quick I was able to pick up on things. I'll be honest, prior to installing the GM, I had not run any of the betas so wasn't sure what I was getting myself into but I had nothing to fear at all, iOS7 is VERY user friendly.

I just love the overall look of it so much, it blends in well with our modern life.

Things i've noticed:
I don't get where everyone is saying theres lag. I experienced no lag whatsoever. I mean it does take a second to get to the homescreen but I actually love that cuz of how it does it, the icons popping in or whatever. Kind of reminds me of launchpad a bit.

With that being said, I feel like it ran the best on my iPhone 5, second best on my iPad 4, and there was very slight delay on my iPod Touch 5th gen. But don't get me wrong, it's nothing even worth mentioning. HOWEVER, I should also state that these were all fresh installs of iOS7 with no apps/music/data or anything at all so who knows how performance will be in real world use.

But in summary, I just have to say that Apple really brought it home with this release. This is iOS for a new generation but it's still the iOS we've all grown to love since the release of the original iPhone back in 2007.

If I had to critique anything at all, (and this would be very hard to do,) it would be to make the text a tiny bit bigger or at least give that option (and it may already have the option, I didn't bother checking) I just noticed when I was reading the descriptions for my tv show episodes, the text was very tiny :)

Oh and finally I also have to say that iTunes Radio is FREAKIN AWESOME! They integrated it so tightly and beautifully with the music player and iTunes. Everything just works together so well.

Bravo Apple! You hit a home run yet again!

TLDR: iOS7 is amazeballs

The non-lag is probably because you use an iPhone 5. Those with < iPhone 5 experience lag. For iTunes Radio, only Americans can use it. I'm not an American, and I have an iPhone 4. It's like it was with me on iPhone 3G going from iOS 3 to iOS 4. I liked the features, but it wasn't stunning because it's old hardware. Next year, I can finally ignore Siri and look at the eye candy they add to iOS 8.

See, this is what I mean; OP says it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, and a few posts later someone else says it will bring cataclysmic flooding.

Welcome to the tim cook era.

What? How is this any different than any other era since 2000? A sizable portion of the Apple fan base was apoplectic with the introduction of OS X, for example. It's no different now. Actually the first beta of iOS 7 looked far better than the first beta of OS X's Aqua UI. The same thing has happened at the introduction of many Apple products. It's a tradition.

The only difference now is that since Cook took over, people are looking for something to be different and it really isn't.

Apple's hardware and software in the cook era have been mediocre. Apple doesn't suck (yet), but he's clearly riding Jobs' coat tails.

I didn't visit these forums much when jobs was in charge. Didn't have to. Ish just worked.

With timmyboy, lots of ish doesn't work. And I mean a lot. I find myself visiting the forums with more frequency to 'check in' just to make sure I'm not downloading a complete piece of garbage.

Ehhh, what? You realize Apple wasn't rolling out terrific, amazing products every six months during the Jobs era. We had an iPod in 2001, iPhone in 2007 and iPad in 2010. We also had the occasional flop (G4 Cube). If we make it to 2015 with no exciting new hardware then I'll start getting worried.

Otoh, iOS 7 is a welcome change and I'm not sure we would have gotten it under Jobs.

You mean like the iTunes update that erased people's hard drives?

Any new update to be shaking after immediate loading to me is kind of a rather short quick honeymoon. I have loaded no betas. I doubt I will have any impressions of IOS 7 immediately, probably at least a day or so to get a feeling about it one way or the other.

Oh you had to pay for your device? I must have forgot about that part.

Of course I realize its part of the price, but i've already bought the phone as is, so anything that changes to make it better in the future, that they allow me to download for free, is a plus in my book.

Remember when you bought a phone, kept it for 2 years, and then it was junk because it never updated. Apples trying to help people get more life out of their devices.

The sarcastic comment wasn't necessary. I'm sorry if I came off as a troll or whatever. I assure you that I'm not looking for a fight. :)

notes, mail, messages and calendar need the same design elements as NC, CC and the pin pad. currently it's awful, and contradicts the whole implementation of the 'new' ui..

installed GM yesterday, immediately restored back to ios 6. bright, gaudy, painful to my eyes, at least.

It's an operating system, not oral from your GF
