I doubt I won’t like it. I’m not one of those people who expect my phone to fart out unicorns, get severely disappointed when they don’t, and therefore come on here to complain.
If for some reason the X ends up with explosive features, like the note 7, then I would probably go for an iPhone 8 rather than my current 7+ since I’m looking to have a smaller phone.

If you want messages to sync, then you are probably better off using Google Hangouts instead of iMessage for your conversations.

For Contacts/Phone Numbers, you can add a CardDav account on the iPhone, which is linked to Google so you can have them in sync.

Doesn't matter, they are linked to the same Google account.

Getting an iPhone, and then using Google apps doesn’t sound very clever to me... it just ruins the experience.

if you plan to use google apps you should get an android device, in my opinion.

oh no... please don't jinx it. 😱

I’m pretty confident in my decision to get the X, I do my homework with everything I purchase to be as sure as possible I’m making the right decision. I’ve not been wrong yet.

But if it doesn’t quite do it, plan b is to keep it and get the 11 (X2?) next year.

At the end of the day, I still have my 6S Plus that runs smooth as butter on ioS 11, despite the hit to my battery life - which I expect Apple will fix in 11.1.

I'm actually got one for me and my wife as a surprise. I got a strong feeling she's going to be pissed, then quickly get over it. I hope I know her like I think I do.

In the rare case the X doesn't do it for me, I'll just go back to my SE. I may even *gasp* check out the Pixel 2.

I'll live with it for the year, and then upgrade. I would have a hard time going BACK to the BIG BEZELS of the 7/8 + !!!!

I played around with it and it feels cheap.

It’s really light and felt kind of flimsy. But still a great choice !!

The Sony Xperia what ever the hell number it’s at felt amazing as well.

But man that blackberry really impressed me. Kinda felt sad walking out of there without one.
A phone doesnt need to be heavy to be good. I prefer a lighter phone anyway. Coincidently I'm currently waiting on a Pixel2 to compliment my cross platform status for the past few years. I like apple but just not everyday, week after week. Variety is the spice of my tech life. In any case a P2 for $649 sounded better than dumping my Iphone 7 for an X. The BB keyone looks nice but BB isnt the same as it used to be for me.

Don't game much at home, but saw this the other night for Black Friday...

My PS4 slim has like 10 digital downloaded games that I haven't finished playing. I use it mainly for playing movies off my 2TB Seagate external hard drive before I go to sleep. But Sony is picky. I have a dedicated Sony Blu-ray player that is also the same way. Can't recognize many formats and need to convert them to MP4 on my MBA.

Miss my LG Blu-ray player which was able to recognize like 99% of different formats. Only going to use the Xbone S for stuff like that. Not into their taste in genres. Xbone S for under $200 plus I can use the $45 to get maybe a Switch game.

Switch: $300
Zelda: BotW: $60
Mario Odyssey: $60
Sonic Mania: $60
128GB microSD: $40
Xbox One S (nice design): $200

Total: $720+
vs
iPhone X: $1200+

Nearly saved $500 for a vacation. Remember I get the Kohl's $45 cash. Vita and Switch would be perfect for my travels.

Yeah, X feels beta. Light on features, heavy on price. Main reasons to get excited are new design, OLED, and gesture controls. Face ID and Animoji isn't enough.

Feels like the iPhone 6/6 Plus. Only new form factor and Apple Pay is what they brought new to the table. The iPhone 7 Plus actually brought more NEW and meaningful features to the iPhone line than the X did even if they copied Android OEMs. No features that could worry you.

iPhone 7 Plus
Telephoto
Water/dust resistance
Dual front speakers
iOS10's raise to wake
Removed headphone jack for AirPods

iPhone X
New design
OLED
Gesture controls
Face ID (supposedly crowning feature)
Animoji
Maligned update called iOS11

Same SoC and amount of RAM as the $200 cheaper 8 Plus. Wireless and fast charging is also found on that.

Apple got arrogant with the price like Sony did 11 years ago with the $600 PS3. Sony was never really the same afterwards. The thing is, Sony lost $200 per unit sold because PS3 cost $800 to manufacture. Apple wants to maintain its profit margin to get to a trillion before anybody.

Plan B - return the phone, eat the $50 restocking fee, and keep my 7+ until next year and hope that the X is released in a plus

Been to Japan once back in April 2009 but only for five days with my family. YATTA! Stayed in the Ginza district. Saw Shibuya, Roppongi Hills, and Akihabara.

Saw mostly Tokyo. Cleanest country I have ever been to. England is probably the 2nd. Cherry blossoms were blooming. Couldn't see Mt. Fuji because of weather.

I always loved the Japanese culture. That's where Apple was inspired from. Asian influences. Sony. Buddhism. Minimalism. Going back because I never really got to see Japan the way I wanted and only had less than a week to see it.

I love Japanese women too just like how many young women check me out. 😉 Can't blame parents for passing on some good genes. Anyhoo, chasing women isn't my vice. Well, not anymore when I had many. Gets too complicated. Going to Japan for myself. If Japan is too expensive, might try cruise ship. Never been on one.

Types of videos I have on my phones - Anthony Bourdain, Andrew Zimmern, Samantha Brown, and Jaime Dempsey. Tony and Sam in Japan are two of my favorites. Lighthearted travel videos while watching them eat and have fun. Music was so chill.

Of course, I never leave the house without Bob Ross to doze off to or Married With Children, Family Guy, and Futurama to listen and laugh to. I Love Lucy mid-50's band music and Gilligan's Island too. I prefer Android because MX Player Pro can make me listen to my shows and isn't picky with the format like iTunes would.

I would listen to the Shenhua theme from the Shenmue Cassette app on Android just because I love to relax to it. I play Ninja Arashi on my phones just so I can listen to the music. Want to visit China and South Korea too. Getting new gadgets is cool and all but it doesn't really fulfill me spiritually and emotionally.

I love my parent's dog named Charlie over any of my gadgets. Charlie looks like iJustine's dog Matty but a little bigger and cuter. Charlie is a chick magnet. We would go hysterical if we lost him. He loves me back and repays with loyalty. Think of the ending to Futurama's "Jurassic Bark."

While companies and celebrities don't care about us but some would be slaves to them. I have loved mobile phones since 2004 and carried one since 1999. I'm as hardcore as Michael Fisher, but life can offer us so much more. So $1100+ for a Japan trip or wild cruise ship vacation instead.
[doublepost=1509403272][/doublepost]If you’re going to mainland Japan and like the cherry blossom season try Kyoto it is absolutely perfect ! I was stationed in Iwakuni Japan so I loved being on the mainland and able to go where ever my car we take me. I think you’ll really enjoy it.

There is no plan B. There is so much information available online about this phone that if anyone is surprised by anything, it's their fault. I have two lines of service; one is an 8 Plus and the other will be the iPhone X as of this Friday. I'm heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem. They would have to release a truly awful phone in order to get me to even think about moving to another platform.

I doubt I won’t like it, but if I didn’t like it for some reason I would get an iPhone 8 Plus. I just can’t leave the iOS ecosystem.

My plan B is to actually buy the X. Plan A is to stick with my 7. I didn’t preorder so I can watch the reviews and wait for any possible “-gate” issues that come up.
