So indecisive this year! Had X, now with 8 and thinking the 8+

I feel the same way! I have the 8 right now and am planning on selling it and getting the X. I don’t know if Apple will let me transfer AC+ over to the X or how that process will work, but man the only thing that’s holding me back right now is how much I’d have to pay for it after everything’s added in (phone, AC+ if I need to repurchase, and case)
 
I’ve bought my 81 year old father and I 2 original iphones, 2 iphone 3gs, 2 iphone 5, 2 iphone 6 plus amd 1 x so far and we have never considered returning one. None of the phones has ever been back to the apple store for repairs or anything else. Great products. If you upgrade every year i guess the thrill isnt is large.

I mean the 8+ has the same internals as the iPhone X just without the fancy new design so you still get the power and grunt without spending too much cash... all you probably "missed out" on was:
1) 2nd lens having OIS and larger aperture [f2.4 vs f2.8] tho i don't think it would be a major dealbreaker.
2) FaceID vs TouchID (again ymmv, both are fast enough for me I like both of them can adapt quickly without complaints)

are the top two things i would probably say. again an iPhone is still an iPhone... whether the two above are major game changing depends on the user alone. I would say photo aficionados would be sold af on the iPhone X, but then again from what I seen 8, 8+ and X's main camera all produce somewhat the same image so as long as you don't go into the zooming in you should be fine.

LOL, this is the year of difficult choices! I currently have a 7 Plus. Until now I have always just ordered the next phone. This year I have made 4 trips to the Apple store to play with them. . . and the winner for me is the X. It just feels good in my hand, and I like the swipe navigation a lot. I also am drawn a little to the fact that it will be the first iPhone I have had for years that seems a little different from the prior iteration.
