(it's made out of the stuff they make pepsi cans with, what do you expect bro...do you even lift?).

They also make airplanes out of aluminum.. Regardless it's not Apple's problem. We've seen a few incidents out of millions of phones sold. It's a non issue.

As for those people saying the phone could bend in a loose dress pants pocket, HOW!? To bend something you need force, it's not just going to bend from light touching. The video of that guy bending it by hand made it clear that it required a lot of force.

I don't see how this bending issue is real. If it's real, then it made it through the development and testing phase.

I'm sure testing (or just because) involved the executive Apple staff carrying and using the phone. The executive staff includes big buys (with big thighs, like me) and Cook who wears tightish jeans. Not to include other development staff and engineers who are probably a little on the bigger side (cause us devs just are!)

There would be bending amongst those people.

Equilibrate:

Mon, Wed, Fri: slip phone into pocket, glass in.
Tue, Thu, Sat: phone goes glass out.

On the Sabbath day, rest and meditation on padded desk. Glass down, camera up towards teh Steve.

Well people called it, there is a widespread 'issue' that has gone viral and on the media etc with all the bending stupidity (it's made out of the stuff they make pepsi cans with, what do you expect bro...do you even lift?).

With iPhone 4 they gave out bumpers...will they give out free silicone cases? Because that would be sweet. I'm all for free stuff.

The solution? The solution is to not try to bend your phone. Who the heck holds their phone in a way that places that much pressure on the phone? Also, I find it very difficult to believe this issue is widespread. I'm guessing well below .001% of iPhone 6 Plus have this issue. And, I have zero sympathy for people who wear skinny jeans and try to stick an iPhone 6 Plus in their pocket for several hours. Guess what? IT WILL NOT FIT! YOUR JEANS ARE TOO TIGHT!

If I try hard enough I can bend my Kindle Fire also. I can also bend my iPad if I want to push hard enough. Sheesh people.

If this continues over the next few weeks, I imagine Apple might issue a presser and say that people can exchange their bent phones, but probably only one replacement per customer.

The real solution will be more support on the S model next year so that it doesn't bend like this.

All of this is could happen if this continues and is reported with more examples than people who are literally trying to bend their phones — only accidental bends while in natural use cases should be discussed as an issue. I can bend a 5s if I really, really tried hard enough.

Make sure you rotate the orientation you put it in your pocket every other time. Glass towards you one day and glass outwards the next. Maybe then it will bend back into shape every other day ;)

Just joking though, I am still waiting for my + and I will be keeping it in my front pocket also.

lol at the sheep in here. How does a phone bending not reflect build quality? Does the HTC M8 do that? And to the guy that says smart iPhone owners don't let stuff like this happens? Reality check most people put their phones in their front pockets. We don't carry around a man purse like you. Sometimes I am ashamed to be an iPhone owner.

I think that reasonable here accept that it's an issue, but are skeptical of how commonplace it is and how frequently it will actually occur. Millions of phones have been sold already, and not too many phones have been shown nor confirmed to be affected by this bending issue. It's still early, but most of the sources and news have cited the hearsay report from here. A video where a guy is bending a phone doesn't exactly count as a "bend problem" to me, because it's unlikely pressure that intense will be held against the device for most of its use.

I have a Plus and love it. I'm a little concerned about the chance of this bend issue happening to me, but I also know that there's not a lot that can be done about it at this point. Apple has made many mistakes and likely this will be one of them, but I am sure things will right themselves in time.

Time will tell if it will spread and become a larger issue, but at the moment, I will assume that there's likely some weaker-assembled units that are more prone to the bending than the majority of the units out there.

The solution will undoubtedly depend on how prevalent the issue actually becomes.

Well said. Unfortunately there is much more bashing on both sides of the fence. One side is calling people idiots for bending their phones. The other side is calling people idiots for not freaking out at this "terrible problem".

I forget there is such pride in being a pro active worrier.

I wonder how quickly this will blow over after thursday when the biggest chunk of Pluses are finally delivered and the first significant amounts of masses who are worrying actually own one for a couple days and are able to realize what a non issue this is.

The people who are keeping be d gate relevant are the masses of people who don't have a Plus yet--just on here reading horror stories. Thinking it could happen to them soon even if they handle their phone reasonably.

There won't be a solution. When the 5 had this issue, nothing was done to the 5s which still had this issue. But I am surprised no 6 users posting about issue yet.

Once again, I am baffled as to why you are here to attack my character. "Pride in being a pro-active worrier"? As defined by you? I am not worried in the slightest. A new phone, which I can't even get yet, as I have mentioned multiple times due to an AT&T screw up, isn't possibly going to cause me worry.

I am participating in discussions on a forum I enjoy spending time on. Presumably you are doing the same.

This entire "issue" may very well blow over, in which case it will be deemed a non-issue, effectively.

I put a thin rigid case on when I got my plus on the 19th. Sure it coves the back and sides, but then again I dont care about how the back looks or stare at the beauty of it. That never really impressed me anyways. After a few weeks of use, the "newness" of it will wear off, and it will just become another smartphone.

I think it will be similar to "antenna-gate" where everyone got a bumper for free. Apple may find a cheapish metal band just to strengthen it that little bit. If they can even replicate the problem. I have a 6 and while a tiny bit paranoid, I'm not returning the phone over it. I've ordered a TPU case and a hard plastic case. They are cheap on eBay. Yeah ok, they are not high quality and you can get better ones, but it will strengthen it a bit more.

Theres cheap solutions or Apple may find something. If they do find something wrong, then they will fix it. Its so annoying how when something goes wrong with iPhone, the news and some people make it seem like these things are exclusive to iPhone and no other phone or anything like it does it.

Antenna-gate wasn't exclusive to iPhone 4.
"Bend-gate" isn't exclusive to 6/+.

Heres an idea. Carry round a 4.7/5.5 inch wide 6.9/7.1mm thick bit of aluminium in your pocket for the day. See what happens.
