We know the iPhone 6 has sold very well, but there hasn't been any breakdown of 6/ 6+ sales (as far as I'm aware) I just hope they've sold enough plus phones to ensure that the larger screen iPhones are here to stay!

The 6 sells better than the 6 Plus but I'm sure the 6 Plus has sold very well relative to expectation. With the early shortages after launch it might have sold better than Apple expected. It's not going away anytime soon.

I really like the 6+ for the screen size and it's battery is fantastic. I wish Apple would stop trying to make everything as thin as possible, I'd rather have a stronger, thicker phone.

IMO it has some work to do before it's the best 5"+ phone on the market. I still think the Note 4 is by far the best phablet out there. But there is no shame in second place.

Got my 6+ at launch. Would not trade it for anything else in the world. In fact whenever I pick up a phone with a smaller screen it just doesn't feel right. It's interesting how quickly one gets used to the large screen.

So you're judging it purely on the screen size?
It's a terrible phone though and I wish I'd ridden out an Android phone until the 6S launched.

I'm seeing a lot more 6pluses out and about.

It's your opinion that's it's terrible. It's fine for me.

Thin is in. Can't stand anything thicker than the current sixes. Make the six plus lighter with same battery performance.

It was just the way you worded it, it seemed like the screen size was all that mattered. There are more than a handful of much better Android phones out there with similar screen sizes. I'm a confirmed iPhone man but the 6+ is garbage and I wouldn't be interested again at half the selling price. The screen size and screen quality are fine, it's the whole 'smartphone' bit Apple got wrong with this one.

It was someone else actually not me. I was just replying to the terrible part you mentioned.

I have a Note 4 but looking for the 6s (not the 6s plus) this fall. I just want Apple to give both phones the same specs minus screen size, resolution and battery size.
Trust me iPhone plus lovers. Soon you're going to get tired of the size. I've owned a Note 2, 3 and now 4 and the large size is no longer special to me.
And another criteria is 32GB starting. No flagship phone in 2015 should have 16GB base. Save that crap for the plastic iphones.

I originally got a 64GB Space Gray iPhone 6 Plus in September of last year. Without even really testing out the display models in a local store, I was really set on the 6 Plus for pre-order because I was really itching for a much larger screen for the iPhone. I loved the two years I got out of my iPhone 5, but I always felt typing was a bit inaccurate or uncomfortable with the screen only being 4 inches. OIS and even better battery life were just bonuses of getting the 6 Plus to me, the main point was to have a bigger display.

And oh boy did I make a huge mistake. I've used a majority of the different models of iPhones, from my first 3GS, the 4, the 5, and the iPhone 6 Plus is by far the clunkiest iPhone I've ever used. Unfortunately for me, I didn't figure this out until after the honeymoon with it was over. I came to this conclusion that I just could not use this phone after the AT&T return limit.

I took a trip to the Apple store to figure what I could do. The very second I got my hands on a display iPhone 6, I was mesmerized. I knew I had to get one for myself, but I was stuck with a phone that could barely fit in my pant's pockets. The iPhone 6 Plus is so large, it digs into my stomach when I sit down with it in my pocket. That's just ludicrous. I really don't understand this obsession with enormous phones. Phones were meant to be handheld, and I certainly missed being able to get to my notes, reply to texts, and take pictures with one hand. It's basically impossible with the 6 Plus.

I ended up selling the 6 Plus on eBay, and bought an unlocked 128GB Gold iPhone 6. This went full circle around December I believe. So how has the iPhone 6 held up? Much better, but not quite perfect. In a perfect world, there would be like 20 models of iPhones, with screen sizes from 3.5'' in every 10th or 5th of an inch upwards. Unfortunately, we're stuck with two options. After using the iPhone 6 with and without a case, one-handed use is still a stretch. Pulling down notification center is still a little too reachy for my tastes. And sometimes it just feels too big in my pocket. I really do think my perfect screen size would be somewhere between 4.3 and 4.5''.

Alas, I do enjoy my iPhone 6. It's the best iPhone I've ever used, and that says a lot with the 6 Plus being the worst iPhone I've ever used. Hopefully :apple: next year with the new iPhones gives us three configurations. I might consider going back to the 4'' world.

So, reluctant iPhone 6+ owners, it's been over six months...

Note that only 3pct of smartphone owners like the 4 inch phones. While 20pct prefer 5.5 or larger. Who's really the outlier here?

I'm one of those people. Notes 2&3. I would not go for 4.7 inches. Minimum 5 to 5.25. I pulled out my old HTC Rezound recently. Blechhhhh!

This is what I needed to hear. I keep getting seduced by the idea of owning a Plus (when the S models come out) – it's so nice to play with in the store – but I know that stuff like this would drive me nuts...

I could never go back to a phone size under 5+, it's like a toy anything under that size.

Can't say the 6+ digs into my stomach. Are you guys maybe carrying a bit of weight round the middle? (just kidding by the way!)

If this poll is true (which I'm sure it's only mildly accurate, as only the readers of the website were polled), Apple has it pretty much down with the two sizes of new iPhones at 4.7 and 5.5 inches.

Don't be seduced. I think Jony Ive said it best himself when they were exploring larger sized iPhones a few years back, that when a new feature or idea such as a larger screen is seemingly a fantastic idea, it cannot be implemented until it does not compromise functionality. I hear these words in my head every single time I pick up any of the Samsung Galaxy phones. That's why the iPhone 6's have rounded edges, because if they kept the same form factor as the iPhone 5's and 4's, they would feel like huge clunky boxes in both hands and pockets.

Unfortunately, I have disagreement here with both Apple and Jony, as I think that a handheld phone larger than 4.7'' is just too big and compromises functionality, no matter how thin or rounded you make the design. My iPhone 6 is just a smidge too large, and is definitely more usable without my case on it (and the case I use is pretty low profile). As I said in my previous post, it's really up to personal preference, with my perfect sized screen being probably 4.4 or 4.5 inches diagonally.

The iPhone 6 Plus defines the word unwieldy. However, it works for some people. My parents wanted the larger screen size so they could read text a lot easier (I know both have BOLD text turned on, and my father has text size turned all the way up). I sometimes ask to see their 6 Pluses to see if my opinions hold the same, and every time I pick one up, my thoughts are beyond solidified. Some may also not care at all about one-handed use of a phone. But I do. I think it's essential to the functionality of what a handheld device should be.

Back in October of last year, I was astounded during a particular moment when I went shopping at a store. In order to glance at my shopping list that I had written down in my Notes on my iPhone 6 Plus, I had to set down my basket onto the floor to free up my other hand so I could properly use the phone... even when just trying to read my shopping list! That moment I knew... I knew something was wrong.

I could never go back to a phone size under 5+, it's like a toy anything under that size.

After using the 6 Plus for a couple of weeks, all of the other iPhones looked and felt laughably tiny. "Toy" was the exact word I used to describe them. Too bad I ate those words and had to "downgrade" to an iPhone 6 (I'm kidding, it was most certainly an upgrade).

I'm male, and approximately 6'4'' and weigh 190lbs. Most would say I'm quite a slender fellow. I wear very normal sized-jeans, not super skinny. My pants size is 34W-34L. The iPhone 6 Plus most definitely dug into my stomach when sitting down, especially when I would sit down or bend down to tie my shoes. Astoundingly uncomfortable. In fact, I almost always took my 6 Plus out of my pocket whenever I sat down. At home, during class, while working, out at dinner, hanging out with friends. Screw that.

My wife's Regular 6 now feels really small. I think now I cant go back after having the plus for only a week. I love it.

My iPad air 2 is not being used that much anymore unfortunately.

Why do you say the 6 plus is garbage? I find it to be the best smartphone I've ever used and I have used a ton of smartphones.

Constantly reloading apps and browser tabs for one thing, and data-heavy websites crashing all the time. I didn't have anywhere near the bother with my two generations older iPhone 5. Sure the big screen and big battery are nice but the rest of it, including the lag and iOS8 bugs, render the phone a huge mistake for me. By far the most frustrating phone I have ever owned, and also the most expensive.

I bought the 6 Plus on launch and have loved it up until a couple months ago. The size has just become a little too burdensome for me, as I have average-sized hands and found myself attempting to use it one-handed about 70% of the time. I bought it for the bigger screen, 1080p display, better camera, and better battery life, but now that devs haven't really used the 6 Plus' screen real estate for much (as others have said), I don't really see the point in having such a gigantic phone, for me at least.

Don't get me wrong, I love the camera, display, and battery, but I feel like I could easily survive those trade-offs and go with the 6 for better everyday use and one-handed use. I'll be keeping this 6 Plus until Apple releases the 6s/6s Plus this September, and then I'll go for the 6s.

I purchased both the 6 and 6+ the day they came out and I have to say the 6 & 6+ has worked without flaw. By far my 6+ is my favorite smart phone, ever.

The 6 was the same except I fell in love with the larger screen and buttery smooooth operation of the 6+!:apple:

Ahh, I guess our usage habits are different. I am a store manager at a cellular company and my productivity went up when I switched from the 6 to the 6 plus. I can see spreadsheets in emails better, I can type much faster, and most importantly, I can hammer on it for up to 18 hours without needing to charge. I can see how the 1gb of ram may be an issue for you if you do a lot of web browsing and like to have many tabs open at the same time. For me, I use it for conference calls, group me, texting, massive amounts of email, and gaming after work and for my usage, it's the best smartphone I've ever owned.

Hopefully the next generation (6s plus?) will have more ram and also take advantage of the large display with better multitasking, that way everyone could enjoy the 6 plus regardless of usage habits.

As much as I like the 6+, my Note 4 still has the better screen.
The size is very similar, so getting used to the 6+ size is a non-issue.
I wish I could put the screen from my Note 4 onto my 6+ and I'll be happy.

I guess it's all personal preference but I find the Samsung Amoled displays to be very over saturated and even hurt my eyes with extended use. Technically their resolution is higher but I like the color reproduction of the 6 plus better. Both fantastic though.

Sorry but iPhone displays simply outclassed by the new Samsung s6 panels. Checked it out yesterday. Insane quality.
