Random Shoes was probably the best episode yet. But that's not really saying much. It was better because it did not focus on the dopey and incompetent TORCHWOOD crew.
The only question anybody should be asking is, if they brought the dead dude's body back to Torchwood and they did an autopsy, why oh why oh why did they not find the alien eye in his stomach????
Why did Gwen get the undertakers to open him up, to find it???
Am I missing something??

Well they did have a fourth that was mercifully abandoned. "Rose: Defender of Earth."

...yeah. I can't believe it either.

There's the Sarah-Jane Adventures that will start Jan 1 next year, kind of like a young Doctor Who. BBC production.

Then, to confuse matters, there's K-9 Adventures. Computer animation, no BBC involvement.

Sarah Jane Adventures looks.... kitschy.

As for the K9 show, well, it's being created by Bob Baker, who has done a lot with Wallace and Gromit and also wrote several old Who episodes (of varying quality, but mostly good), so I reserve judgement.

So I watched Torchwood last night, although it was quite good (Had the fit one out of 'No Angels' and Sugar from 'Sugar Rush' in) How depressing was that?

One of them ****ed off in a plane, the other to London and the cool old guy killd himself... The End.

I happen to really like Torchwood. Hard to believe it's a Doctor Who spinoff, considering how racy it can get.
What I didn't know what that there's going to be a a new Sarah Jane adventure series and K-9 series (because K-9 and Company was horrible - lol).
I look forward to all the new TV I get to watch. :p

You've GOT to be kidding, Random Shoes is probably the worst episode in the entire series!!!! Everyone seems to think its good, but I think its poorly put together and just trying to do what Doctor Who did with Love & Monsters, and FAILING.

So, is Torchwood Season 1 over with the airing of End of Days? That makes it only 13 episodes.

I hope it didn't get cancelled just as it was getting very interesting. :)

Let's hope the series has an over-haul. Somebody needs to read the scrpit and remove any plot devices that don't make sense. If they are a secret organisation, why do they have 'Torchwood' written on they're blacked out, neon light swirling, pimped out, 4x4 car?

Torchwood, a good idea, not very well produced.

It's very badly written and very poorly cast. It contains some of the worst dialogue ever committed to screen. they could do with killing most of the crew and sacking the writers.

I still watched em all though, because, y'know, it's sci-fi n' stuff.

I didn't watch them all. I love sci-fi and I try to watch or at least find out about new sci-fi programmes on TV but there was something wrong with the series.
I had a real problem with their weapons handling technique. There is no excuse for bad acting or bad script writing. I guess most of the members of this forum could act and handle a gun better than the Torchwood team.;)
There's a new series called Primeval, that border's on the line between of sci-fi and good ole' British camp.:p Let's hope this can rise above.:)

I'm surprised to read the comments here. I recently started watching Torchwood and quite enjoy it. Up to episode 7 now. It's by know means watershed tv. But it is a good solid watch thus far.

Children of Earth

Having not watched any previous Torchwood episodes (the whole sexy alien thing didn't appeal) and only knowing Captain Jack through his Doctor Who cameos, I must say that this weeks 'Children of Earth' was bloody superb. It was nice to watch something that wasn't afraid to be bleak through to its grim finale. Good stuff.

I haven't watched it all yet. But a guy who sits at the end of the room from me in work was John Barrowman's body double. He was the skinless screaming Captain Jack in the second episode.

It's been alright this week, Torchwood. That skinless Jack looked a bit skanky though, I feel a bit sorry for you having to sit near that at work, bartelby.

It's ok. He's quiet unless you throw salt on him.

We watched the last two episodes over the past two evenings – for various reasons we've had to Sky Plus them and watch it later. I have to say, that was startlingly good television. I particularly liked the motive behind the 456's scheme, I really wasn't expecting that reason at all.

All credit to the BBC for putting something so wonderfully bleak on its main channel, at prime time for a whole week.
