Unless I am mistaken...you don't have an iPhone X.Nope, it's not overblown.
It still sucks.
First thing you see as the screen lights up is an uneven display with a cut out missing on the top.
Terrible design choice

Exactly, and the screen cut out is one of the main reasons I dont and will not get one.
Great observation![]()

I have a hard time believing anyone who says they "like" the notch, and I've seen a fair amount of that from people getting themselves hyped for the phone. You can certainly not be too bothered by it. I understand accepting it or viewing Apple's decision to embrace it as the best option. But I can't wrap my head around anyone saying they specifically like having a portion of the screen blocked.
Weirdly the apps not being optimized didnt bother me at all.Notch doesn’t bother me at all. It’s the apps not being optimized that get annoying but I knew that going in and they will get optimized soon I’m sure. I’ve watched movies on my X and don’t have issues with it. I understand why some don’t like it. Everyone has different design ideas and likes. No one device for everyone.
...then that clearly invalidates this opinion:
Weirdly the apps not being optimized didnt bother me at all.
The notch is going to be there a while. Lol.it so bad the notch just see what Apps has to be change and next year the notch will not be there
The notch is going to be there a while. Lol.
...then that clearly invalidates this opinion:
This is terrible logic lol.
Just because they don’t own one doesn’t make it not true. That is absolutely what you see.
Source: I have the X. And yes, it’s a terrible design choice, regardless of whether or not people are able to get used to it.
Once the screen turns on the notch cut out from the screen on top will always be there and that part will be unusable screen space. Weather you like to admit it or not![]()
All bezels are unusable screen space.
But I guess now all of a sudden we cant live with bezels and have to purchase the X that has no bezel but ugly ears sticking up and uneven screen.
Not....
I am not defending the notch as I am not a fan, but the X has a bezel. Its referred to as the notch. All apple did was shorten the bezel and extend the screen around it. Some form of bezel would be needed to house the camera and sensors. Apple decided on a notch and not a full bezel.
The notch (bezel) appears to be in the middle of the screen because apple shortened this bezel and extended the screen around it. You actually gain screen space. Not the perfect design but there it is.
You prefer thicker bezels like the Samsung S8? I prefer having more screen, which is what the notch provides.
I don't understand why a phone must have no bezels? For 9 years we have had the best phones, with bezel. The iPad Pro 10.5 is awesome, it does not need to have no bezel....
