There does not seem to much real info about it, other than a alleged total redesign. So what can we realistically expect out of it? I mean it is in a serious need of an update, especially the stock apps. I like IOS, but it is very restrictive when it comes to customization.

So will we finally see movable desktop icons, rather than the current icon pages? It is obvious that navigation needs to be built in to compete with google, microsoft and Nokia. We also need better stock apps! I mean seriously, other than financial bods who ever uses the stocks app? The youtube app is drastically out of date as well!

I personally want something that looks and feels less restrictive ( fully customizable ) Has better stock apps and has a better form of multitasking more akin to say how macbooks do it with with expose!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

I'm pretty stoked for WWDC to see what it looks like.

I don't really see what's wrong with notes, iBooks...a lot of the stock apps are just fine. Except maps.

Will it be available for the iPhone 4 or will it be strictly for the iPhone 5?

Good question. Rumor says that iOS 5 will be a major revamp of the whole OS. So believing that, i have no idea what's to come.

But realistically speaking, i'm expecting a notification system at least. :p

I think if Apple are to delay a new iPhone launch, then a new IOS would be the perfect distraction.

This sounds more like a wish-list, than realistic expectations for ios 5.

BTW, micro HDMI out is hardware-related, not software. Learn to read.

It will run on the 4 for sure.

Let's see -

Lockinfo type lockscreen
Bitesms type messenger
Cytacts type visual address
Sbs settings type favorite quick settings
Elert type email notification

Better typing recognition ? I can't be the only one still making spelling errors and incorrectly replaced words! Let us add words we want!

Thoughts?

Yes. I am sick and tired of people posting their hardware wish lists when the OP asked about realistic expectations in ios 5.
I call it RTFPost

ETA: I don't think you'd appreciate it if you needed help with your iphone, but someone posts, the iphone needs over the air synching in your post. That doesn't help your problem, now does it?
Seriously? Was that really necessary?

I could see some sort of file system. Steve Jobs at D8 in 2010 said this,

"Working on better ways to share content, maybe file system access (said “a lot of things” being worked on)."

While the HDMI port would be hardware, the software needs to support HDMI out also. Currently, 1080p isn't supported by the software so it would need to get fixed.

I am sick and tired of people feeling a need to bash people to make themselves seem like a better person.

Yeah, but that doesn't really apply here if you didn't notice.

Hopefully this is done.

Does anyone think it's possible that they'll redesign the OS layout to have something other than 20 icons spaced out across the screen? That's looking kinda week.

If you jailbreak your phone like I do does the OS really matter? I have a lot of these "improvements" already from Cydia.
