I disagree. If I had to bet i'd put money on popular culture and Apple's "image". Apple can do no wrong... they're mentioned almost every day on the news, on online publications and market updates. Apple doesn't need to innovate... they can continue to cost and profit. I'm not saying they will... but it looks like with the 5 they might.

That has very little to do with me personally staying with Apple at this point. The main "draw" keeping me is my investment in iTunes. Both time and money with music, movies, encoding, rating, playlists, play history, etc. I am struggling to pull away from all of that. And I find that many people I talk to say the same thing. They got us all so invested in iPod and iTunes, then came out with the phone. They were very smart in how they developed the ecosystem. ;)

Honestly I hear the argument here, but the reason imo that people stay with apple and the iPhone is because they want a quality phone that won't be replaced by something "bigger and better" in a couple months.

^^^ THIS

One of the main reasons for me. That, and timely updates and overall quality of the device. It's not flawless, nothing is...but overall very reliable.

Yea, the amount of time it took for the GS2 to get ICS was way too long.

It is unfortunate that one of the "flagship" Android phones (GS3) still doesn't have JB... I hope JB releases for it before the launch of the new iPhone.

...and without anything announced or confirmed yet, you know this how?

Based purely on the same pre released leaked pictures showing a slightly changed, elongated version of i4/4s form factor and the same speculation that everyone else is using to make their comparisons. Clearly I have no more knowledge than anyone else but if the leaks are to be believed (and there have been a lot coming from previously reputable sources), they tell us an awful lot about what to expect.

You guys keep saying no innovation but look at 4S. How many did they sell? millions? 5 will sell even more. Amazon trade-in for 16Gb iPhone 4s is worth $420. Show me any 1 yr old Android phone that worth this much trade-in. Innovation doesn't matter for Apple now. It's about the brand. 'Nuff said.

High end!

Cell phones have become a huge part of our lives. They are with us everywhere. Because of this I would not be opposed to spending upwards of say $800 on something that was special. I am thinking a PRO model.

Actually if Apple made something that was incredibly built..say teardrop design.. super thin... pro OS that's a little less retard friendly...and included premium materials and a drop dead design... well lets say I would pay over $1200 for it. And why not? I use it every day and all day... way more than I ever used the laptop that cost much more and I also hate to have what every single person in the room has.

There are people that drive cars that are practical and people that drive cars that are exotic.

Im not arguing that it wont sell. Like I mentioned iphone 3 users should do it in a heartbeat. a slightly thinner and longer screen don't due it for me. LTE might but seeing that even on 4G AT&T it seems like 56k modem speeds in Phildelphia Area so LTE speeds im not believing plus I would loose my current unlimted cap clause.

I just think I might wait for 5S or till WED when they sell it to me :)

My 4S has a glass front and back and a metal band separating the two... that's nothing like the leaked 5's unibody design. Unless, of course, you're complaining that it's basically a rectangle with a touchscreen on one side, but that's pretty much every smartphone available.

And, as I stated, practically every iPhone released has had (at least) one or two key features that went unknown until the announcement... need they be software or an additional feature of the hardware that was previously unexpected. I see no reason for the 5 to be different.

Agree with the OP.
This is really a minor upgrade and nothing to get too excited about.
But of course all the iSheep here are gonna go nuts over it just cause it has an Apple logo on it.

YES! This is almost the only reason i'm likely to stay with the iPhone! The shared apps across phone/pad... Mac compatibility... iTunes etc. If i had to deal with an un-jailbroken iOS... I'd never stay Apple. The REALLY need to setp up the UI department. I loved it on my first gen... but seriously. "if it 'aint broke why fix it?" - Apple

Why would you lose your "unlimited"? We have seen no indication that switching to an LTE device changes your unlimited with AT&T. Sorry your data is not great in Philly. I average 1-5 meg down in Detroit with my 4. I am jealous of my brother in law getting 10+ on his VZW LTE phone. I hope ATT gets LTE here soon!

You forget... no iPhone ever has leaked in this magnitude before. Not even the 4. Maybe they'll get crazy and re-skin the calculator or keypad?

Its funny that people are loving the Galaxy S 3 looks now. The phone is plain ugly. Its not nicely designed at all, but because its different people are wetting their pants over it.

HTC One X and Nokia Lumia 800+ series are the only phones that even come close to being as nice as Apple design.

I have never for as long as I've owned a cell phone had anyone comment to me about how nice it looks. At the end of the day if it does what I want it to do, I don't care what it's made of. People go gaga for a glass iPhone and then shove enough TPU/Plastic/Silicone around to the point it would bounce 4ft back up if it was dropped and then rip every other phone for not being as aesthetically pleasing.

I know, I know, save me the explanation, your one of the 5% that don't put a case on it.

I looked at the GS3. Same with the One X. I really thought the 3 was better overall, but did like the X body more [seemed more solid]. But the updates, and the reliability I've had with the 4 [not 4S] made me hesitate on pulling the trigger. We'll see what the 5 brings...

to me, a big upgrade from the 4 to the 4s was the camera. If they can make another improvement in this area it would make it worth it to me. I use my phone for pics all the time and the quality just keeps getting better.

IDoes anyone have any (I know where in rumor town) but does anyone have something to get me excited about the 5???

Even though we're in rumor town...the answer to your question is...NO!

Nothing to get excited about.

Don't buy it...boring crap!

Wait for the next iteration. No, better yet, wait 4 or 5 more iterations for something interesting.

Don't buy uninteresting, boring crap!!

:rolleyes::D

All things considered a decent upgrade over a 3 or 4 user but nothing worth paying the premium to get out of your current contact on the 4S with unless I am wrong?
Worth is always subjective on any topic. If it's not worth it to you then skip it. Why do you think you need people to convince you otherwise? Use what works for you.

There's always the chance that the leaks are deliberate disinfo and Apple will unveil something totally different next week. I doubt it, but there's always a chance...

If someone has a 4S then it's not going to be a big deal but for those of use using iP4 and older we're ready to make the leap into using Siri daily and having faster speeds and improved camera.

I'm really excited about in-cell displays. Reducing the "glass" that I have to look through to see the image should have a nice effect.

LTE isn't that big of a deal to me. It's like giving me a faster car but only letting me open it up for an eight of a mile. Not all that exciting really.

I'm hoping for an even better/faster camera. Improved battery life and great speed.

The larger screen is a step in the right direction.

Funny, I didn't realize they found a working iPhone 5 in a bar already.
Grey was a personal friend of mine in HS... I wasn't surprised a bit when I saw on FB that he was indeed the engineer who lost it. (read smart... but not street-smart :D) Forgot about that. That really was a leak... but we didn't see the amount of leaks before that that we have with the 5. Hell, if you look online you can just about build a FULL iPhone 5 now.

Really? What processor does it have? What camera? How much RAM? Capacity?
