I always try run new OS versions or models for as long as I can without jailbreaking. My current iPhone 3GS is a few OS versions behind as there haven't been any major updates that would make me want to go through the jailbreak process again.

I will eventually jailbreak my 4S when there is a solid jailbreak available. Until then I'm going to enjoy the majesticness (yes, majesticness) of the 4S, Siri and iOS5. :p

Definitely will ASAP. I have never pirated an app or anything like that; I just like to use stuff like SBSettings, cycling wallpapers, and status bar notifications. Oh, and themes, which I end up customizing beyond recognition anyway. That's it.

ETA: And BiteSMS. Don't know how I managed to forget that one.

I think there are people who are just too intimidated by the actual process of jailbreaking. So by default they decide they are against it.

Once you jailbreak, you do not want to go back behind those bars again.

Eh. I've jailbroken my iPhone and iPad, and undone it, and not missed it. There are some nice things you can do with jailbreak, but it's not a big deal, imo.

That's right! Hoping in a compatible Gevey for us locked by Verizon :(
Huh?
CDMA phones have to get approval by the carrier. It doesn't work like gsm phones. You usually can get the cheaper carriers, like metro pcs, to add you with some minor hacking. Otherwise, no hacking will get you on a non-approved carrier.

The three reasons I will jailbreak, if it becomes available;

MyWi
My 3G
SB Settings

I have unlimited data, and even with that I usually use under a gig a month. So I don't feel bad about the occasional unauthorized tether. I know it's wrong, spare me the lecture.

My 3G because, again I have unlimited data and I think it's wrong that I'm restricted to downloading large apps over wifi only. I'm paying for unlimited and I have a 20mb limit on apps?

SB settings should be built in to iOS 5. Simple as that. As it stands right now there are too many steps to get to your wifi, bluetooth, 3G, etc. SB settings puts everything in one convenient spot that is easily accesible from anywhere.

I won't be super upset if a JB never works out, but if it does those are my 3 reasons.

I will be for BiteSMS mostly and also for fake clock up which just makes the screen draws a little faster.
I also MUST HAVE chpwns Infinifolders and 5 icon dock and switcher.

I have my iPhone 4 jailbroken for three reasons and will jailbreak my 4S for the same three...

1. MyWi
2. LockInfo
3. Caller ID Faker

I don't use wifi tethering often, maybe once per month, but it's nice to have when needed.

LockInfo is great and even though iOS5 has good notifications, I still prefer LockInfo with the ability to have a speed dial to your favorites right from the lock screen...why this isn't standard in iOS I don't know.

Caller ID Faker I use a lot to call customers who don't want to answer the phone when they see my caller ID. :D

Aside from those three, everything else on my phone looks stock...no custom themes or different text messaging apps or anything like that.

I may jailbreak just for the ability to tether to my iPad and keep my unlimited plan and a few other little things. I'm not into the whole customizing thing.

I will mostly for theming, don't like the stock theme and the boring blue pop-ups. My-Wi, sbs settings and the many little tweaks I have gotten used to.

Agreed

Agreed. Also, most long (hour+) podcasts are too big to be downloaded over the air.

Get out of my head!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A334 Safari/7534.48.3)

I will if they get an untethered jb.

I'm on the fence with this. I really, really need BiteSMS. The default messaging app is awful. No time-stamps on every message? I still don't understand why.

#1 BiteSMS
#2 SBSettings
#3 MyWi
#4 My3G
#5 Infinidock

I am going to try and hold out until the untethered jailbreak. My battery dying and me being left with a brick until I reach a computer again is not a desirable option.

My I4 has become stupidly slow lately with JB so I'm considering not doing it time and trial will see I guess

I Definitely will as soon as it becomes available. However the need for jailbreaking dwindles with every release. All thats left for me is BiteSMS and iBlacklist.

SBSettings is very tempting. My guess is I'll resolve to not jailbreak then jailbreak a week later. This is how it usually goes for me.

Also forgot about My3g
