I bought a bumper thinking I would need it for reception issues. Since my phone is perfectly, I'm taking it back and buying a 2nd data cable.

I did however order one of these. http://www.sfbags.com/products/iphone-cases/suedejacket-iphone.php

I don't like cases and I don't like the bumpers covering up the silver on the sides. However this will protect the phone if it ever falls off a table or out of my pocket. I have never dropped a phone while it was in my hand because I hold onto it so tight. I have been looking for a thin slip case for quiet a while. These don't ship out till the 1st.

i do want to put a static cling protector film on the back of my phone, does anyone know where i could find this?

My phone came with a very nice and attractive case, made of glass and stainless steel. That's the one I'll be using :)

To me the edges seam kind of rough. I put on the case from AT&T store and it makes the phone easier to grip. I felt like I was going to drop it naked.

I actually dropped my iPhone 4 today. It was a 2-3 foot drop onto office-grade carpet. Not a scratch, dent, mark, or any other sign of a problem. This isn't exactly simple window-pane glass.

And that isn't exactly cement you are dropping it on.

I had a black bumper case on mine but after finding the coupon for SquareTrade on another thread, I decided to get the insurance and ***** the case. I'm now naked and I'm loving it baby!

This is the first time I have gone "naked" and it feels very liberating!!

I am worried about the scratching of the back and all that but I also love the feel and the screen is to amazing to even cover with a protective slip.

I have a screen and back protector on it and have insurance for it too so yes I'm also "Going Naked" might aswell, bit pointless spending all that money on a glass and metal phone only to cover it in a plastic case

I've always used my iPhones without a case. But with the defective antenna this phone is useless.

Likewise

I might have to use a bumper if this is an issue. But I think it's probably ok.

I use headsets anyway. I've never had a case, and my 3G is fine.
But you never know. This has a different shape. Maybe it will show marks.

Mine's naked right now due to a lack of available cases, but I don't like being...I mean, having my iPhone 4 naked in public :D

I went to Times Square last night, and it was SUPER crowded (shock). I carried it in BOTH hands against my chest like I was holding a precious diamond from the Spelling estate because I had no case to secure it.

I usually carry my iGadgets naked in the house, but 'clothed' when outside.

i dropped mine not 24 hours after having it. getting out of the car and fell right on the concrete. after wiping it over and over on my shirt, the tiny indentation is not really that noticeable. i was on my way into best buy to buy a bumper, figures.

so i didn't pay it any mind until i am trying on my new bumper. it said 'no sim'.. it didnt matter how many times i took the sim out, turned off the phone, nothing. i played dumb and handed it to the bb mobile person.. she did the same once and it worked. i put that bumber on so quick.. and will def be more careful..

I'm just going bumpered, to protect the edging.

Black iPhone, black bumpers...looks very goth

That's how I'm rolling. It feels better on my ear when I'm on a call as well. Another thing is it adds a little separation between the phone's glass back and a possible abrasive substance, like salt on a table for instance. I was naked with it all day yesterday and it was ok. The signal did drop occasionally, but it never went into searching mode and I never dropped a call. I cupped the bottom left corner and got the signal down to 1 bar. I made a call and the signal spiked back to 5 bars. I know people are having lots of issues, but I'm good so far, naked or bumped. In any case, with the bumper on there's no signal degradation whatsoever. I hope apple addresses this because releasing a product with such a glaring design flaw is inexcusable. And so was the "you're holding it the wrong way" comment. I guess the next version of this iphone will have some sort rubberized coating along the antenna.

So who is going to go naked?

The emperor, aka Steve Jobs. His new clothes reveal more than he would like.

I've never used a case on any cell phone, including the previous 3 iPhones I've owned, and I don't intend to start using one now. My phones have always looked and worked just fine without them!

Naked like it was born! I put a case on the original and the 3G and the case scratched the phone worst than the 3GS I just turned off yesterday. Carried the 3GS naked since last June and it's in better shape the the first two.

Once I get my iPhone I will get a bumper as well. Not because of [possible] reception issues but for the protection it offers.

Me. I kept a matte screen protector on my 3GS for as long as I used it and always hated the fact that other people's iPhone screens looked better than mine because of it.
