Oh and another reason I'm going naked is that the case I had on my 3GS actually caused more damage than it protected the phone against, bits of grit got between the phone and case and causes lots of little dents in the phone, these dents then got bits of dirt in them and the phone looked awful (It was the white 3GS too)

Does anyone think if you bought the wrapsol it would help with the reception issue. I heard this was one better then zagg and I saw that there kit comes with parts that actually cover the alluminum parts of the phone.

First iPhone I got where I think it will be naked at all times. I've had invisible shield in past, but the screen is too beautiful for it. Plus I love how the phone feels in my hand.

I ordered the Ultra Slim pouch from Sena and a Wrapsol. I'll make the decision once I have everything in hand. Would love to go naked, but not sure I can right off the bat.

Well, I might buy a bumper so the glass doesn't touch the surface (of, for example, a table) but I will certainly not use any other cases. I always find it a waste, because most people do it so the phone doesn't get a scratch or something but that's illogical: if you have a case, you can't see the beautiful design.

But as I said, I might buy the bumper. It will only cover the the siding and it makes sure it doesn't touch a surface like a table. I always slide my iPhone 3GS across the table and you can see some scratches (under good light) on the back of the iPhone. Next to that the siding gets easily scratches. The bumper just protects the siding and it makes sure it doesn't touch a surface. Perfect, isn't it?

Still not sure, because I love 'naked' designs.

And anyone noticed the iPhone 4 is still thinner even if a bumper is surrounding it. In total your iPhone 4 will be 2 mm thicker so that is (9.3+2 = ) 11.3 mm. The iPhone 3GS is (without a case) 12.3 mm thick. Still differs 1 mm, and without case even 3!

My first year with it, bumper and belt case.

My second year with it, bumper case no longer mandatory.

Right now, we are in the honeymoon stages of it like with anything new and just want to coddle it like a baby. After a year or two, the cycle becomes wanting a new phone and taking of this one far less than the first few months.

I think the phone is beautiful and can completely understand going naked with it. I was inclined to buy a bumper to protect the sides and don't like the edges of the metal band. Not flush and feels jaggy. I also don't like the phone touching the surfaces, and the bumper provides a lip. I generally don't like cases because it makes it feel bigger and could trap dirt (or sand) which over time can ruin the phone. But the phone itself is a work of art and definitely makes every previous iPhone look and feel fat and cheap. This feels and looks like a $1000 phone, not a $600-700 without contract. The iPhone 4 looks like it fits with the fashionista/high-end niche market. iPhone 4 makes the Giorgio Armani phones from Samsung look like trash.

Exactly, after a while, I'll only use the case when I need to go somewhere that requires it.

I actually dropped my iPhone 4 today. It was a 2-3 foot drop onto office-grade carpet. Not a scratch, dent, mark, or any other sign of a problem. This isn't exactly simple window-pane glass.

Dropped mine last night getting out of a car, almost **** my pants. Luckily there was no damage, good thing I had the bumper case on!
