I was so on the fence about it, I have the 32GB WiFi version and so tempted to run on LTE...almost just returned this thing and got a 32 LTE, but then I thought about the data limits, and having to pay Verizon twice for data...i already just tether the 3G from my iphone when i need internet on my ipad, but LTE would be faster and convenient. I almost just wanted to add a new phone line and then swap the sim to my iPad in order to get the double data deal.

But then the IT guy at work gave me the WiFi password that the ITS dept. uses! I use my iPad at home and work so I'm covered at both places now. I figure I will just wait a few months until the LTE iPhone comes out and then tether that way...it can wait, and I don't need to do a lot of unnecessary spending. When the next iPad comes around and if Verizon has shared data pools by then, I will probably spend the extra $130 to get the LTE Version.

Resale value is kimd of irrelevant since you're paying more in the first place.

I had considered the LTE version and have had second thoughts about my wifi only version, but then I always realize at my needs for it would be so few and far between that it would be a waste for me.

It makes perfect sense! If you have a 64GB wifi model and a 64GB 4G LTE model for sale and I with the 4G model is asking 50.00 more than you...I'll probably sell mine before you do for 50.00+ more. Will I loose some money along the way yes, but so will you. When the iPad 4th gen comes out you can't possibly believe you are going to retain your original full MSRP that you payed. That iPad is used and it has your stink on it. It's only natural that you'll take some loss. When the time comes I want to have no problems selling my current model to upgrade to the next. Any advantage helps.

I didn't mean irrelevant to the point where you could resell for full price, of course you'll lose momey. I meant that resale value between a wifi and LTE model is irrelevant. Sure, you'll sell the LTE for more than the wifi, but you paid $130 more in the first place. So it's enirely possible the LTE seller will lose more money on resale.

And saying your LTE iPad would sell before my wifi is not necessarily true. It might and it might not. Just as many people could be looking for either just a wifi model or the cheaper resale price. They'd both have an equal chance of being sold, and either one could go first. It would entirely depend upon the buyer.

I returned my 16gb wifi for 32gb Verizon. Carrying around a mifi for overseas trips wasn't exactly convenient, and I like the security of no contract data and pay as you go.

Not going to get $130 back for the LTE version but yours may sell faster and you can still get $75 ish back.

I'm very happy I exchanged for LTE. Didn't think I needed it before but now that I do, its so much more convenient. No one 'needs' LTE but it makes life easier and you end up taking the iPad more places than usual. At least this was the case for me.

Exactly.

The global data capability of the iPad is HUGE. I could see some specialized users for 4G LTE data, but for most users, tethering off your phone should be more than sufficient domestically for occasional use. I find that most online things can be done from the iPhone directly without a laptop or iPad in the first place.
