I'm glad most people who wanted one got one yesterday :). It really sucks when you have other things to do (ie: work, errands, etc) and can't devote time to line up at 5AM for a phone

felt very good just walkin' out calmly and hitting up a starbucks

so chill. so apple

I stopped into our localish ATT and was told they were out 16gb black, had 1 white, and either in 32gb. I walked out with a 32gb black for 499!!

My dad stopped into the Syracuse Apple store and all the ATT around the area were out of iPhones and got his 16gb black.

On the spur of the moment I walked into my local O2 store around 11am and walked out with one.

Oops :D

Yesterday around lunchtime, I casually strolled into the Apple Store (about one mile from my house :p ) and bought a 3G S. Took ten minutes tops. I don't know what I'll do with my 16GB 3G.

I took a visit to First Colony Mall in Sugarland, Texas this morning. there was still a line wrapped around the Apple store for the new iPhone. I'm anxious to see how other malls are doing as well as my local AT&T.

For the past 2 iPhones, a good amount of people just randomly got the phones on a whim come release day or after release day

But not with this one

Nobody I know randomly got one....a few pre-ordered but that is it

Nobody got the upgrade price so I think not many could justify spending so much

I was in NYC yesterday and reserved a 32gb from the Apple store near me. Went to an ATT store are noon they said they still had phones but when i was being helped all they had left was 16gb white.....so i went to my apple store at 8pm no line for the reserved phones....5 min and my 3gs was all set

I walked into the AT&T store on a whim this morning and they had 9 32gbs. I was so glad I wasn't going to have to deal with lines or preorders until they refused to sell to me. Gotta love those employee perks. They coudlnt even tell me when I would be allowed to purchase.

I arrived at the apple store around 3:15pm yesterday
There were like 15 people in front of me in the "did not reserve" line. I was getting a bit worried because the line wasn't moving at all. about 30 minutes later I was purchasing my phone.

They did run out of black 16gb iphones. The person in front of me got the last two. I didn't care, I was there for the 32gb iphone and there were plenty of those available.

Apple stores in the Los Angeles area have an abundance of stock. All the AT&T stores were sold out however. Yesterday I called around to about 4 different apple stores trying to find the one with the shortest wait time. Ended up going to the Northridge mall where I was about 10th in line. Entire process took about 20 minutes — very quick, easy, and painless!

Just got my 16gb 3gs right now. Went to Tim hortons and said "why not go and see if Rogers has any left. And yes they did haha. Don't really like my plan though. 45 a month for 300 minutes, 500mb data and no text messaging. Gonna see if I can get somethingf better. Too bad I'm a mere rogers user haha

Walked into an AT&T store at 7am on Friday morning before work and had my number ported from Sprint and a new white 32gb 3Gs in my hands within 45 minutes.

Experience couldn't have been more pleasant and hassle-free.

I was no eligable for the lowest price until Wednesday. I had a preorder at the apple store an hour away. I also had been told that the local AT&T store would not have any for walk ups. I just deciede late Thursday night to just get up early and get in line and see what happened. If I did not get a phone at the AT&T store, I would just drive to the Apple store.

I got in line around 5:30am and was number 3. Number one was not a pre order and number 2 was. At 655am, there was about 20 in line. The manager came out and called about a half dozen names. No one answered so she said "well ok, the first 5 people are welcome to come in and purchase phones". I asked for the 32gb black and was activated and out the door by 7:20am.

It then took a while to restore from my 3G backup but I am very happy I made this purchase. The speed improvements, the A2DP and the video are all great new features.

By the way, I went back to the same store on Sunday and found out that they sold out of phones at 9:30am. They expect more at the end of the week.

I didn't qualify for the 199/299 price so I was really hesitant on paying $499 the the 32GB. So, about 4pm on Friday I decided to make the 45 minute trip to the Cincinnati Apple store. Got there about 5:30pm. Waited in line about 20 minutes. The only phones they had left was both 32GB and bought a Black 32 to replace my Black 3G. Everyone had to wait in line. Most of the people in front of me were there for Macs and not iPhones.

Broke my iPhone 3G glass Wednesday, walked into AT&T Store Friday at 1 walked out 1:15 with 32 GB 3GS.

AT&T stores were all sold out by the time I finally figured out (Friday afternoon) that I could add a line and get the discount. (No Apple stores nearby, sadly!)

So, sadly, looks like I've got a 1-2 week wait ahead of me. *Sob!*
