Was gonna wait after getting rid of my problematic MBP Classic in march and did until Apple did their last refresh in June and saw that the ExpressCard slot was gone and removable battery was no longer option

I then rushed to my local store to pick up one of the previous models (April Rev) and i haven't been happier, even more so seeing as its been 8 months and counting. Doubt i'll even bat an eye for the upcoming revision...maybe the one after that.

So i guess i didn't really wait or i waited 4 months *shrug*

Ive been waiting since October '08 - Just because I always wait 3-4 revisions before upgrading (I have a MacBook from then and a PowerBook from April '05).

Forever!!!

Since I sold my white MacBook in the summer of 2008. Then I went through a number of 13" MBs, two MacBook Airs and I'm on my second 13" MB Pro (the first one was noisy). All these computers I bought on a temporary basis and soon sold them. I still haven't got the kind of MacBook Pro that I wanted. Our 15" 2.53 GHz MacBook Pro is being used mostly by my girlfriend now, despite the fact that it has a faulty graphic chip.

But I am planning to keep my next 13" MB Pro if they will have 1.) anti-glare screen 2.) decent battery life (my '7-hour' battery lasts less than 3, even with frugal use).

A couple of months since I finally figured out my Hackint0sh (BTW it was a pain in the ass, and still have problems sometimes) but at least I have a machine faking the Mac experience on an i7 unfortunately it was not a easy process and had to do it all over again, and again, and again.

Easy process Apple just release one now that I have the money................... :p

Fixed that! You don't currently have a "Mac". :p

which 13" MB pro do you have? ok , i mentioned in another thread about my hdd failure , but i managed to run Garageband on my baby for a good 5 hours before recharging. very impressive compared to the PC world that i'm normally used to.

i got the 4 gig , 250 hdd model.

2.26 GHz unibody with 4GB RAM. I recently upgraded for a 320 GB 7200 Seagate HDD but it hasn't made any noticeable difference, something else is sucking the juice. I'm on Snow Leopard and I mostly have only a couple of Safari windows open. BT is turned off, TimeMachine is turned off, the same with Spaces. I have a few very basic apps running in the background but nothing major. And from time to time, iStat shows that my fan is running at 6000 rpm.

Around October.
I was going to buy in August because I *thought* i was going back to school but I landed a job (!) and didn't really need it... but now I realized i need it asap. (mostly so I can get an a matrox mini)

I've been waiting for one since the "The unofficial "I'm Waiting for Arrandale" thread." :( That's a long time, all days which aren't Tuesdays are a Torture

I've been waiting since the nVidia 8x00 series was released...I didn't trust that, won't trust the 9x00, the 2xx and now we have the die shrink for 3xx. That's how many years? I'm planning on ordering...my laptop is about to give and I need to swap it as soon as I can.

Had my 2.2 ghz santa rosa macbook pro stolen in november and have been using a asus ee pc netbook since. Can anyone else think they can survive in in university with 4 gb ssd hardrive for 3 months? try it it blows.

End of November 09. Mainly cause it was expected in late January and never came so I thought I would wait and so I will be disappointed if they don't get updated on Tuesday.

I have been surviving with my desktop PC for the last six years (it is 10 years old) and way beyond retirement age, in fact I am pretty sure it has a steam driven hard drive. I began Art college in 2004 and had been eyeing up a new laptop, which i finally bought from Dell back in 2008. Anyway the short version is it never worked properly, never loaded up in less than 20 mins, and after nearly 2 hours on the phone to their tech guys who had me switching it on and off non stop I finally won the battle and got a refund. So ever since I have been looking to cross over to the other side into mac land, since I have been introduced to them at my new college at the end of 2008. The only thing that has been holding me back is up until now lack of funds, and a small case of nerves after my last experience with new laptops. Also I have fallen under the spell of the Upgrade syndrome and am awaiting the cure. When we finaly see an upgrade I will make a decisioin on whether to go Mac Book Pro or 27" iMac. So to finish I suppose I have been waiting at least six years and deep dwon have been missing out for 10 years. Oh the shear pain

Just enough to be pissed... Once I made the decision to purchase one in December, I got a tip about the new ones So it's been a nightmare till now...

I hope it'll benthos Tuesday....

I've been waiting since January 6th, which is when I got the news from the Apple Store that my MacBook's power issue required a new logic board. I realize it's been only ~41 days, but given how much I use my computer it's been agonizing being tethered to a power connection for that amount of time.

anyone else agree with this.............

I kind of wish i never heard there was a refresh coming. If i didn't hear, I would be using one by now.

I'd be happy up until I heard that they're updating yeah. The speed bump between my current machine and the new ones will be much more worthy than my current with the c2d line up.

Seriously??

How is this a useful thread that doesn't need to be closed?

Depends on how you define useful - we think it's interesting at least.

YMMV.

If you don't like it, go look somewhere else. You're not being forced to look here.

Well considering this is a rumour site, and he's got pictures of BB dummy SKUs for new Macs, I'd say he's contributed more to the site than you have with your complaining about threads, which you've done in 5 or 6 out of your last 25 posts.

I think it's an interesting thread. I have the same 15" 2.16 c2d from late 2006. I've upgraded the ram to 3GB and added a 320GB 7200 HD about a year ago. It's my 10th Wedding anniversary next month so I've been promised a new laptop. My kids have their beady eyes on my current MBP! I suppose I've been waiting a year, but I decided to upgrade my current machine. I have seriously been waiting since November, and reading the forums madly since the New Year! I want a 13"MBP with an i5 chip with more ram and HD than the current model. Not too much to ask - anything else would be a bonus!
