My G5 tower is like six years old, but I've only technically been waiting for a couple of weeks for the new MBPs. Hopefully I jumped in at the right time. Sucks for the people who've been waiting since like Oct.

In reality, I only seriously started to think about replacing my '06 MBP when my g/f got her 13" uMBP in October.

I only 'delayed' for Arrandale a few weeks ago, after tax money came in. I don't *need* a new machine, but if I'm going to replace it I'd rather wait.

I've been wanting to purchase my first MacBook pro for about 7 months now, but didn't have the funding for it.

Around November~December I decided to look for a loan or credit card to apply for and just go for it, but that's when I started reading rumors about Intel's new arrandale chips going into the new MacBook pros.

And so the waiting began...

I guess really I've been waiting for the right time since the unibodies came out. I haven't needed a new one, and honestly still don't NEED a new one, but I'm getting ready to head off to college in the fall, and I wouldn't mind starting fresh, hopefully getting one to last all four years, and I have the money right now, so it's just worked out for me to be ready for an upgrade. I'm just waiting for the next update to get my money's worth.

I've been waiting since mid-2007 after my late 2006 MacBook took a tumble off my car onto concrete... followed by 2 reams of paper smashing down onto it. Got the logic board replaced for free since it was already malfunctioning, but I had to buy a new HDD and the MacBook has scratches, the screen is askew, and now it gets really, REALLY hot all the time. Average CPU temp of 88c with Safari/Pages going, don't even ask about games or videos. I was going to buy a MBP back then but decided to wait it out... and now that my trackpad has finally bit the dust, I'm really getting pretty anxious these days! C'mon :apple: , get a move on!
