I've never had a case for a phone, but I always put the InvisibleShield on them. I'm far more likely to scratch the screen than to drop it. If I need to protect my iPhone, I believe that my leather case that came with the Samsung Instinct will work just fine.

I'm going caseless definitely. I just sold my mint 32GB 3GS tonight and I feel like I preserved it for somebody who I bet probably already scratched it.

I don't plan on using a case. I only used a Bodyguardz skin for my 3GS and managed to go all year without dropping it, even when taking it to the gym or going jogging with it. So I plan on going the same route with my new phone.

I can understand why people would want a case but I don't like how they add bulk to the phone or make it harder to pull out of your pocket.

I had a cover on my iphone 3G for about a year. After that, I removed the cover and I loved the feeling of the phone without a cover so I kept it like that. A week later, my son dropped my phone to the ground and the LCD was damaged

As in other situations in life, it feels better without a rubber case on ;)

I never found a case for my 3G I really loved, and they all wore out in pretty short time. However, I'm optimistic that the new material that this phone is made out of is going to lessen or negate the need for a case. However my 3G is pretty shot, but had I gotten Applecare, I'd probably have had 2 new phones by now. I'm hard on phones I guess :) Applecare for sure this time, it's already bought.

No case for me at launch. I'll decide after a few days though once I judge the durability of the phone.

I am, always have....always will.......
Same here.

This will be my third naked iPhone, and I've never gotten more than minuscule scratches on the :apple: on the back. *knock wood* With the new design, I won't even have to worry about that. :D

I love the design, am careful with my stuff, and I don't like the feel or look of any case I've seen.

Tried 3 cases for a few days each, hated them all - much better experience to handle a caseless iPhone.

I let a girl i know use my iPhone 3G a few weeks after I got it, and she got a bit of spray paint on the (bare) screen . After some rubbing, it came off though. You can get sharpie off with rubbing alcohol (or even hand sanitizer) really easily.

Any scratches (on the screen)? This is the thing I worry about the most...for some reason, the prospect of dropping it and cracking the screen doesn't really bother me.

It has no scratches on the screen. And the new one is supposed to be even more scratch resistant. I'd suggest not getting a screen protector unless you're just really paranoid. Remember, it's a phone...a tool, not a Faberge egg.

I might get a bumper for look, but cases only prevent scratches and the iPhone almost never scratches. If you drop your phone hard enough to break it, it's basically going to break whether you have a case on or not.

Naked for me. Phone just looks too nice to cover up. Honestly didn't feel that way about previous generations. I'll see how it goes or if anything catches my eye down the line. I changed cases quite often with my other iPhones just to switch things up a bit. We'll see.

probably going to get an agent 18 case. not sure how often i'll use it. my old iphone lives in it...

+1... thought the "bumper" sounds like the perfect compromise.

Yeah, my phone's goin naked for sure.

I had a case on my 3G for a little bit, but then when i took it off i noticed the finish on the back of my phone was ruined! I'm not sure if dirt got in the back or if the phone got too hot from the case keeping the heat from the battery in or what but no more case for me. I MAY get one if it's cool enough. But probably not since i personally dont think you can make it look cooler with a case than it is naked. Apple did a great job styling this phone!

Depending on if the heat related issue are solved then I might.

I haven't been using a case for my 3G because it gets too hot if I'm streaming music and charging it. It refuses to charge if it gets hot and just drains the battery so I keep it out of its case to keep it cool (somewhat). If that has been solved with the 4 then I'll take a case!

But I'm debating on getting a screen protector since Apple claims the screen will be scratch resistant.

Have never protected by iPhones (all past versions.) and haven't had any problems. Thinking about a bumper for 4 but I hate that they never think to make a dock that works with the bumper on it. Not likely to bother taking it off and putting it on several times a day.

Wrapsol Ultra for me as well. Tried a couple cases for the 3GS and hated the bulkiness. I've never dropped my phone before, but I do worry about scratches, so a shield is the best option for me.

I will be protecting my phone. With insurance. The phone itself will be going bareback and if I **** it I'll get a new one. I guess its the same reason I'm pro choice ;)

I'd say if you are klutz and constantly drop your phone on concrete, get a case.

Since I can be very careful with my phone, looks like I won't really need one. But a holster is necessary for me because I am prone to lose my phone in my pocket. I'll get the bumper because it might add more grip. Sometimes having it small can be a bad thing because you can lose it without noticing.

This looks to be the most scratch-resistant iPhone ever, so less paranoia spendng more money on screen protectors. It gets dirty around the edges anyway and leaves residue.

But yes, I definitely do understand wanting this phone to go buck naked. It is the most durable iPhone ever. Nomore chrome bezel for scratches. Even the aluminum matte back of the OG could get scraped with keys. Save some $$ this time.

For me it depends on the mute switch, the only reason I have a case on my current phones is to prevent the mute switch from moving in my pocket. If its not good enough, ill be getting a bumper.

The dock works with the bumper, according to pictures I've seen.
