However, if this trend follow, which is highly likely, then what he said is not entirely wrong.
2017 would be 10th anniversary indeed. But after then? 2020? That would be another major redesign.

I have read your post before replying though. :p
Perhaps. I do see your point though.

I think the 2019 will be a lot better upgrade.
But then again why not wait another year till 2020 to see what that might bring;)
Exactly. I'm getting the 7 regardless, as I have a 6 and feel like upgrading regardless of the specs.

This is a totally different case. I just don't think it's that hard to understand completely since I'm using English here.

Just to clarify, what I'm saying is that we know the upcoming iPhone would not have enough new features to be worth the money, meanwhile we know that they're preparing something big for their 10th anniversary, so why not just wait for another year?

To simplify, we upgrade when we see reasons to, and for me it would be things such as redesign or something different.
Ahh, make sense. This is easier than the previous post to understand.

I'm tired of the same old looking 6 series design. The only way I'd consider another recycled iPhone look is if it has significant, useful upgrades. All indications seem to point to 2017 for a truly new model. At least from a specs and performance basis. Therefore I'll just take a wait and see position.

The longer Apple makes us wait, like the two year delay catching up to Samsung before offering a spacious display, the more I lose interest in ever buying another new iPhone.

Besides my Nexus 6P and Galaxy S7 Edge are so good that I question the relevance of keeping an iPhone in my selection. Apple's best days are clearly in the rear view mirror.

I am definitely waiting for the 2017 iPhone. The only reason is because I really don't see anything that could get me to upgrade. Especially if it looks the same.

A better camera can only go so far in one year and iOS 10 is amazing on my iPhone 6S. They will have some awesome features I'm sure, but at the same time, I don't think it will be enough. Then again, I said that about the iPhonee 6 and I ended up getting it. But we will see. I'm really not hearing good things about this iPhone.

iPhone 8 in 2017 for me, unless Samsungs S8 is a better phone or maybe the Nexus 7 if they make it smaller. iPhone 7, no way this time around.

Says the person that holds apple stock?

You may be right about apples best days I'll give you that, it's now about fleecing the consumer and providing no value in their products. Or, maybe since 2011 their best days have started in a new path.

Sure sell your iphone, apple will survive..I promise.

how can they fleece their customers? They manufacture a product, consumers either buy it or they don't.

My first iPhone was a 4S and my second was the 5S. My current phone is a 6S Plus and for now I'm planning on buying the latest model every year since my financial situation has improved lately.

I love iPhones and would have a new one every year if I could have afforded to in the past.

I don't worry about it. The Apple Upgrade program means I'll get the 2016 and 2017 iPhones, whatever they're called.

Sticking with my 6S, it has plenty of power to get me through until 2017 iPhone.

If the upgrade consists of no headphone jack, a force touch home button, and the usual spec bumps, I will wait and use the savings towards the next MBP. I like my headphone jack and the only thing I really wish my 6 Plus had was more RAM.

can you imagine the quality control lottery that will come with the 2017 iphone? i shudder just thinking about it.

...almost makes me consider a 7 to replace my 6 and wait for 2018.

I am torn. I will have to wait and see. I want to upgrade from my 6 to a 7 Plus but also I am really looking forward to whatever this 2017 iPhone has in store. I may take the leap and buy the 7 Plus on iPhone upgrade program for 2 reasons 1) I want a new phone to replace my 6
2) Upgrading to the 2017 iPhone will be a breeze

I will likely end up skipping the 7 and instead pick up a 6S for a lower price in September. My current iPhone 5 is 3 1/2 years old and I figure I should be able to get about that long out of the 6S as well. If you can't tell, I keep my phones for a long time.

- I'm in the small few who will actually admit they are for the headphone jack removal.

- Between the headphone jack and new (no moving parts) home button it's said that it will be a lot more water resistant, perhaps even proof.

I like the idea of removing the headphone jack too.

As for the home button, you can still have a physical home button and have it water resistant. Look at samsungs s7.

Yes, but a flush non physical button is even better for waterproofing. It would still function the same if the rumour of the 3D/Force Touch buttons comes true. Just like a new Mac trackpad. I don't know if you've ever tried the newer ones. It literally feels like you're clicking it in because of the Haptic feedback, but it doesn't. (On the Mac they even made it so a little speaker plays the click sound to fool you even more)

I just upgraded both my lines to the 6s Plus. Paid full price for both, so I'll certainly skip out on upgrading to the 7.
