Add another Red Leather Smartcover purchase to the list :D My orange plastic SC has performed like a champ and I love the simple (but used every day) extra functionality it brings. Not bothering with screen or back cover though, even after a year of being chucked around the house my iPad 2 is almost mark free (and the iPad 1 seems bomb proof!).

Mareware full body protection with Smart Cover for me. It's the fully protection that adds less bulk, has a perfect fit and comes with a reasonable price.

I will get a Power Support crystal screen protector and use some sort of folio case with tight-fit protective back like Speck Magfolio or iFrogz Summit case with magnet close, making a decision based on new colors, features, and price. I've had first and second generation iPads and tried lots of different covers/ cases and this setup works best for me. I don't like any type of leather bezel on front of iPad and I like the folio cases that allow you to stand the iPad on your lap when couch, desk, kitchen, or car surfing. And I love the magnetic sleep feature. I tried the Apple Smart cover with a separate back cover and felt like the Smart Cover detached too easily from the iPad to be truly protective.

iPad 1 case is the best one by far. Apple should just give in and fit smart cover type magnets to control the screen.

For now, original pink SmartCover for the front, Gelaskin 3M sticker for the back. Nothing on the front (and after a year my screen is still scratch-free and perfect). When I toss it in my bag, it slides into an InCase neoprene sleeve.

Looking forward to the Portenzo case updates -- I think that'll be my next case. Love the Moleskine look.

The Gelaskin backing for iPad 2 was fantastic -- when I take it off to sell the iPad 2 next weekend (because I doubt anyone wants a pink Gelaskin on the back) the aluminum will have no scratches, mars, or dings. Skipped a Gelaskin "frame" on the front of the iPad 2 because i don't like bumping up against an "edge" if I'm playing a game.

I've never owned an iPad before, this will be my first(!) but I'm looking at getting the "Zero Series" case. Perfect for slipping into my messenger bag alongside my Air.

I've actually bought one of the leather "envelope" cases from them for my MacBook Air, excellent quality and looks stunning.

any confirmation that the power support will fit the new one? dont see any reason it wouldnt!

ill probably do body gaurdz on the back, power support and smart cover on the front

Looks like a fine case, no delivery to Ireland :(

I ordered a Black Leather Smart Cover with the iPad.

I am waiting to see if the SwitchEasy CoverBuddy is going to fit the iPad and I am going to get a SwitchEasy AntiAnti-Reflect.

I am tempted to pick up a iPad Sock to keep it in. I really would like to find something that can carry accessories.

Belkin Clear Screen screen protector (have on on my iP4S, love it)
Black leather Apple Smart Cover
Black Case-Mate Barely There Case (once it's released)

That's what I plan on doing.

I've chosen a red smart cover - which has already shipped earlier today and am otherwise thinking I will try being naked. I may add a back cover if I chicken out. I've also ordered a cache from Tom Bihn for when I put it in my bag.

I at least want to try it without a screen protector first as when I got iPad original I put a shield on it straight away and I often wonder if it would be less greasy and easier to write on with various styli without that film in the way.

I am nervous of being unprotected though...

can the smart cover go on backwards?

As in when I have it at the desk or whatever. Can it be flipped to cover the back so it doesn't rest there naked?

STM skinny again for me. Went through 8 cases between the first and second generations, and this is definitely the best I've had. Adds almost no bulk and has protected it from at least 8 drops with no damage.
