Yep. Hey, I lost mine when my GPA went below 3.0, so turnabout is fair play!

See, that would be one benefit of being filthy rich. You can do stuff like that and be called "eccentric" instead of "total looney". :D

Don't study too hard! If you start pulling A's you'll have to pay for yourself!

:D

Ooh, a lot a displaced anger, there.

So angry at someone having a high end car??

And enjoying the shock of others at your display of rage?

my...my...my...

No, the point is that I'm not even angry. It's just that you have so much money that you don't have to give a ****.

I'd drive from West to East cost USA in a pickup truck with a friend or two, take my DSLR stuff, laptop, a tent, and not worry about life for a month or two.

If its really just money to burn off

1) buy some fly in a supersonic fighter jet (like in Russia or South Africa)
2) a Mercedes SL
3) fill up all the lens gaps between Canon catalog and my current setup
4) MacPro cluster

move to amsterdam. travel everywhere in europe with a backpack and buy new stuff everywhere I go (clothes, etc). invest in whatever bomb/destructive weapons are intended for iraq/afghanitsan (JK.. i wish) and lastly (and seriously) invest in stocks (apple) and live life day to day being an adrenaline junkie (think Nitro circus and travis pastrana)

Three things I really want....
1.)One of those luxury RVs with granite floors and leather couches. :D
2.) A really nice apartment in New York with a view of the Empire State Building and cabinets made with a very rare wood, like Formosan Koa, and high end fixtures.
3.) A Bentley Continental GT, in Bronze.

A guy in one of my college classes actually won $46M from the lottery (after taxes). He looked like a bum and lived life simply.

...I don't know if I could ever do that.

I would invest it and live off the interest/capital gains.

Good for him not blowing it off on a multi-million dollar home and other miscellaneous items that are not necessary, then going broke like most lottery winners do.

I had trouble with this, as anything I want I want enough to save up and buy. So not a lot comes to mind that really fits your criteria.

But the one thing I did finally come up with is, buy an old vintage car and restore it. Probably a classic Porsche 911, but that's open to further consideration. This is something I would love to do, and would spend my own "work money" on perhaps, but it's very low on my list of priorities.

That's the closest I can come to answering the question. :)

I would finally open up a state of the art, artisanal bread bakery. Best ovens, best mixers, best tools, best fridge, best equipment, best location, best ingredients, best employees, and make the best bread and pastries!

but one can only wish, right?

If we're talking just a few thousand or so here, my answer would be to repair everything on my truck, and if I had enough left over get my old truck up and running again.

If we're talking $100k+, all of the above, plus buy a house in Arkansas, put some away in savings and try and invest the rest.

I wouldn't tell anyone. I'd want my parents to have some of it, so I'm not sure how I'd tell them, but I wouldn't want anyone else knowing. Of course, any big purchase will raise eyebrows, so each purchase would have to have a backstory (this is inheritance money I used to buy a house etc). I'd just hate to see my friends change the way they saw me, and I'd probably be paranoid that they were using me for money at some point too.

Things I'd do:
- Start my own animation company and recruit a couple of friends who are doing an MSc in it right now
- Buy a house for myself and kit it out quite nicely over a period of time
- Buy an old school car
- New Mac and iPad collection
- Do a world-trip, seeing all the major cities
- Donate to charity anonymously
- Start my own brewing company

Depends on how big the lotto win is. Though this is what I'd like to do if I had the money.

First make sure to set a side enough of the winnings to live comfortably for the rest of my life (investments, annuities, etc)

Then invite my closest friends and family on an Amazing Race like trip around the world.

If big, I would give to family before I spend it on me.
If it's moderate, I need some serious equipment for work.

I'd probably build a mountain house in the best location that I could with literally everything furnished and hot tub. And also buy a good amount of land so I can use it to shoot guns or go hunting. With the mountain house, I can have family and friends over, and all the memories and good times you can have. That would probably be my guilty pleasure buy
