Macs have always been a little wonky with Bluetooth. However, Big Sur has been particularly problematic. Someone really needs to squash this bug once and for all.

I get frequent Magic Mouse (both a 1 and a 2) disconnects/reconnects on my early 2020 13" MBP. Don't get them with the same mice on my MBA M1.

I had disconnects/reconnects all the time with an original Magic Mouse (the one with AA batteries), on multiple Macs. But since I upgraded to a Magic Mouse 2 (the one with a lightning port), it's pretty much perfect even with 3 or more Bluetooth devices connected.

Still on macOS catalina here, though, not big sur. 2017 MBP 13".

This is welcome news about a Bluetooth Fix for M1 Macs. My M1 Mac Mini experiences this problem "losing" my bluetooth keyboard and mouse randomly.

Good to hear, I've had issues with air pods pro connection where it simply has had issues unlike with my iPhone/iPad.

"Solved my M1 Mac Bluetooth issues by plugging in my keyboard and buying a Logitech mouse with its own Bluetooth dongle."

That's an interesting way to "solve" the issue. "Hey guys, I solved the issue by burying my head in the sand and pretending like it doesn't exist."

Occasionally, I have BT issues with a 2017 MBP and Air Pods Pro. Pretty annoying to lose the connection in the middle of a Zoom call.

I'll believe that there is an effective fix when it actually arrives and actually fixes the problem. I and many others have experienced bluetooth issues with Mac desktops for years... still not fixed for everyone experiencing the issues.

I've had to re-use the wired keyboard and mouse from an older iMac for use with the newer one that only came with bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

This was one of the reasons that made me switch to a hackintosh. Now I got 8 USB-A, 2 USB-C TB3, Bluetooth, Wifi + a lot more going on and no problems ever. Just food for thought.

I've had issues with AirPods connecting since upgrading to Big Sur, on both Intel and M1 Macs. But, luckily, the rest of my bluetooth devices have all worked fine.

They call this a “joke”

It’s not only Mac mini, I’ve been having this issue on my iMac 2020 since for a while. Apple collected custom logs but couldn’t resolve asking me to bring my 27 iMac to the store, so no.
Hardwired the keyboard and using Logitech unify dongle.

I appreciate that they are jumping on it.

I had an M1 MBP but took it back - not due to this (I did have issues), but I just couldn't manage with just 2 ports, and limited external monitor support. Just need to wait for the larger MBP, and hopefully the BT issues will be in the rearview mirror.

Good luck everyone!

Apple Watch having issue with connecting to M1 to unlock 13” MBP. Hope this new update will fix the issue.

Bizarrely I’ve not encountered any Bluetooth issues with my M1 so far. But this is definitely good news for the many, many people I’ve encountered who do have problems.

This is really badly needed. I'm having to use a USB receiver for my Logitech bluetooth mouse, and my keyboard disconnects constantly with my M1 mini, so I'm keeping an old Apple wired keyboard nearby. What a pain.

Not a new problem! About half of my MacBook Pro models in the past years had serious problems with the built in Bluetooth. Sadly its also not just an apple problem, my desktop PC with MSI B550 mainboard has the same issue. How in the world can it be that nobody checks this??? If internal bluetooth is difficult because of interference or whatever, just don't put it in there and advertise it!!
This!

Over the years I have had lots of problems with Mac’s and Bluetooth. Same with the few times I have used it on the PC. Bluetooth just sucks.

For me it’s not disconnecting, it’s latency issues. My Logitech mouse is basically unusable via Bluetooth. I really hope this is fixed soon.

I've never had the random disconnects or an inability to connect but I have noticed that every time I go to use bluetooth connected headphones I get horrible static the first time I connect. I then disconnect them and reconnect them and have no more static issues.

I have this problem in spades; my Magic Trackpad — which had no problems with the macOS 11-running Retina MacBook it was associated with before last December — frequently disconnects from my M1 Mini, which is especially disconcerting because the Taptic engine doesn't act while the device is disconnected. So every so often I'm just push my finger against a [psychologically] solid object.

By frequently, I mean two or three times an hour.

OT:
Why Does Macrumors Still Think It's A Good Idea To Capitalize Every Word Of A Heading?

It's not making things more legible, for sure.
Yeah, it's weird that they still bother with that, and with capitals at the start of sentences, and with spelling things correctly — and how much time do they want us to waste reading around all this punctuation stuff? In this article they even put an apostrophe in the correct place, like some kind of crazy giraffe.
