Stupid decision, in my opinion.

You probably only made $30 more than if you would've sold it later - I don't think $30 is worth being without your phone for a few months. Additionally, if you have a carrier like AT&T, you could've had the phone unlocked when you upgraded and sold it for much more than $350 while still getting 2-3 months of more service out of it.

Actually it was a great decision....I issue Smartphones to employees where I work. I ordered a spanking new iPhone for our inventory, moved my phone to it, sold mine, jailbroke this 4S and restored all my Cydia stuff and I'm right where I left off. Now I was $325 waiting for new phone.

Pretty good sale there! How new or old was it?

nuckinfutz your avatar kills me, lol

Day 1 4S it was. Very well kept. Could have been new.

You already know you are gonna be disappointed with the iphone.

BTW, like your name! Just sold my 06 Gixxer1K recently. Unable to ride any more. My first was a 84 Ninja 900. A big heavy turd compared to the Gixxer.

If I am, I'm getting the S3.

Nice! I have a 2009

Not bad? $350 is just giving the phone away right now. You'll get more than that after the next iPhone is released.

I don't think so. I had it listed on here for weeks for $375...No bites. Had it on Craigs and nothing. Lowered to $350 and it took off.

Ahh ... well played, then!

I sold my 16gb 4s last week to one of those phone recycling companies for £300 ($470).

I'm sure I could have got more on eBay or Gumtree but can't be bother with the hassel. Plus with the recycling companies I get to keep the charger etc.

$350 seems very low

Do you live far away from a major city? I sold one at $450 in less than an hour, and could have sold it to about 8 people

That's crazy to me. No, I live in a big city. Hmmm!!

Interesting...I added a feeler in the Marketplace and was given ranges...see thread

I sold a white 16gb for $450 a week ago. While you probably sold it within 10 minutes, you definitely got less than the average person. $350 is what I would expect after the 5 is released.

Exactly, OP got ripped off that's for sure. Live and learn.

where are you guys seeing these outrageous prices? saying the OP got raped?

Have you guys looked at eBay and craigslist or you're just on your Apple stanning?

I'm looking to sell my 4s 32gb black in preparation too, and I'm seeing about $400-$420 on eBay and craigslist... as a matter of fact, the highest price on eBay for a used one is $432.

Show me where someone got over 400 for what I sold.

Yeah...no idea what these guys are selling.

I managed to get $350 for it. 16gb.

I really hope these leaks are fake and we get a much different looking device from the 4s...if so, game on....if not, will most likely test drive the S3.
Gas mileage is huge with me though.

Doing it before Apple even announced a follow-up was prudent. I guess that moron who bought it at that OUTRAGEOUS profit to you doesn't believe those blogs who've never reported inaccurate information about an Apple release.

Yes, the forum is full of experts. A marketplace forum says you're asking too much and this thread says too little. You didn't get robbed, you're not filing a lost shipment claim, you didn't get a brick returned for a cancelled sale, it didn't disappear in Russia, you aren't arguing with a reseller about imaginary defects that reduce what they quoted you, etc. I say you did OK. I sell things for less than a fantasy forum price to get a quick, comfortable, reliable sale. It also gives someone else a chance to brag on what a good deal they got. ;)

But to each their own.

Edit: Browsing Craigslist in my city, 16 GB iPhone 4S's are listing from $300 - $430 (and a $680!). 32GB $460 - $700. There are enough for sale that some of those folks aren't going to get what they want.

I would've never sold my iPhone off rumors alone!

Now you sold your iPhone for 350, and you might be without an iPhone till October or maybe later!!

Dumb dumb dumb.

I don't even think about selling until invitations go out. I feel bad for the people who upgraded to the 4S in the same manner, you never know what you will get. Cause Siri was not worth it.

:(

I have an iPhone 4 32gb unlocked and am thinking about doing the same. In the mean time I have another iphone 4 with a cracked screen I can use until the next iPhone is out. It would definitely pay for itself. Anyone want to me an offer :D

but till then, what are you gonna do? .... and... what if the phone DOESN"T come out when you thought it would..?

I sold my unlocked 16GB for $499 and bought a locked 32GB for the same price as I sold it. Turns out the phone I bought from Gazelle was off contract so I got AT&T to unlock it. Will make for a nice offset when the new iPhone is announced.

Saving a small amount and yet being without a iPhone for a period of months doesn't seem logical to me. I will sell mine or pass it to a family member just as the new iPhone is released.

I'm selling my iPhone 4S for 400 after the new one comes out. And the 4 for 300. iPhones don't lose their value really.

You can live without an iPhone, you know? There are other devices you can use for another month and half until the new one comes out.

What other device? A old smartphone or dumbphone lying around the house? If you can live without an iPhone for upwards of two months, then maybe you don't even need an iPhone in the first place.

And if you're buying other devices like Android phones in conjunction with owning an iPhone, then you aren't spending your money too wisely anyway.

Some people need to get work done on their mobile and mucking around swapping devices and making do with a lesser device for two months is not worth the $50 extra in the sale.

I sold white 4S 16GB for $500 two hours ago. It was posted for 9 days on CL without no interest except scammers and resellers. And today it sold. Very happy and I think the buyer was happy too. Phone was like new with box and never used accessories.
