I thought the Nike model is a Series 2 spec version with the Nike additions?

You're correct. I actually believed Nike had a Series One as well that wasn't water resistant. There is only Series 2 (Water resistant up to 50 meters).
[doublepost=1482422815][/doublepost]
Yes, it is a series 2 watch.
I don't know where he got the idea that the Nike version isn't waterproof, that's complete nonsense.

Nonsense you say? You are also clearly misinforming the OP, the Nike Series 2 is not waterproof, it's Water resistant up to 50 meters. To correct you, listed below is a link disapproving what you stated.

I'm the one who is misinforming the OP? You were saying that the watch isn't water resistant at all.
Water resistant up to 50 meters basically is waterproof to probably 98.5% of the people getting an Apple Watch. And the OP never said anything that makes us beleive he'd not be an average users.

And I admitted that I believed there was a Nike Watch Series one, when there is only Nike Series 2.

Yes, you misinformed the OP. And the term "Basically" is no where near the same as water proof. That's outlandish and wrong. When it is in fact water resistant, you are deflecting away from what you originally stated.

There are huge differences between resistance and proofing.

@Infinite Jest quoted "Water resistant up to 50 meters basically is waterproof to probably 98.5% of the people getting an Apple Watch."

No, not even close. Tell me where it says in Apple's policy that basically 98.5% waterproof for those who purchase an Apple Watch? It appears to me you're making anecdotal claims.

Do you read over the link that I provided you? Apple clearly defines the differences for you between waterproofing and water resistance.

And lastly, what's considered an "Average user?" What does an average user do with their Apple Watch on a daily basis? That sounds extremely subjective and variable when considering water.

B&H is a great seller and when they know more, they will reach out to you immediately. You have the option of canceling at anytime.
The only "reach out" they've done so far is one email, apparently computer-generated (not written by a human) 30 days after my order. The message basically stated: "We apologize for any inconvenience and will keep you posted."

Yes, I can cancel at any time. But, I don't want to, for various reasons.

BTW, the B&H website initially stated the watch's availability was mid-December, then was changed to end of December, then was changed to beginning of January.

34 days and counting....

Best Buy did the same to me. Delivery Jan 4 was delayed to Jan 11 yesterday. SB S2. I went ahead and ordered one from Apple.com with 2 weeks estimate and I am trolling the Apple Store app hoping one pops up in a local store. A store in Charlotte had SG S2 watches for almost a day this past week and I picked one up but I'm thinking I want the SB SS.
[doublepost=1483191997][/doublepost]I just chatted with an AT&T representative online and they have the SB S2 in stock to ship. I'm going to check their stores this morning

Didn't realize ATT stores sell them....
Are they the same as purchased from any other retailer.

It looks like AT&T sold out or never had them today. The rep kept dancing around my question of inventory but finally admitted they were on back order (at least the SB S2 that I want) but At&T "guaranteed" I would get it in 1-3 business days. I'm not making that order. They have a restocking fee for returns as well so I'm worried about that if another order comes through

Update January 2, 2017: B&H website now says the watch's availability is "not available".

Right there with you still waiting on B&H.

I called Best Buy yesterday to ask why my order with them on the 27th went from delivery on the 4th to delivery by the 10th while online Best Buy orders placed today say delivery by the 11th. They said just high demand and low inventory which I get. Then later in the day yesterday, my card showed up with a pending charge from BB. Do they charge just before they ship like Apple does?

UK problems here too.
Looking for 42mm silver and not many shops have them in stock, those that o are too far away.

Nobody can provide me with a lead time, I'm expecting Apple will dump a load to the shops soon, missing out on lots of momey from those wishing to purchase in January that may go elsewhere.

I was fortunate in the shop where I bought mine - my only complaint is that I wish they'd had it in a different colour nylon band.

placed on order for a white stainless steel 42mm on 12/16, had it delivered 12/27. decided to switch to space black and ordered another on 12/29 and just got word that it has shipped and should be here by 1/9 (though it may be sooner). so pretty good luck going straight through Apple and getting something within ~2 weeks.

What's your location? I ordered a space black stainless the evening of 12/30 and I am in NC. No change in my order yet.

I'm in Virginia. I checked yesterday morning and it had just changed from processing to preparing for shipment, and then I got the shipment notification this morning. I would guess you will see something any time now.

Hi all, thought I'd ask a related question to this post – I was looking at a model online (42 mm Series 2 SS - midnight blue leather loop, medium) and it says "sold out" instead of showing a later shipping/availability date. A couple of other models do, too. Does this mean they're gone for good or do they become available again at some point? I read somewhere that once some of these models sell out Apple won't make anymore until next product cycle rollout (which would seem a bit dumb to me, if they're that in demand).

I ordered my stainless steel white sport band 42mm Series 2 last Tuesday, shipped out middle of the night last night, should be here Monday! Nice turnaround time!

So you ordered two Space Black Apple Watches? Or just one?

My 12/30 order for SB S2 left China today. Apple's email said delivery by 1/9 but the UPS tracking says it will be delivered tomorrow 1/4. I paid $10 for 2-3 day business day shipping so not sure if that made the advance from Monday to tomorrow.

Now watch the local retail inventory start to stream in probably tomorrow. :)

just one. ordered the regular initially and then called apple and placed an order for the space black after all the research and consideration. arranged for the return of the regular at the same time i called about ordering the black. will need to return the regular by 1/12. black should arrive no later than 1/9. so might be able to compare in person for a day or two. i have an apple store right up the street and i think they said the original purchase could also be returned to a retail location instead of being shipped back.

i should have paid for the expedited delivery. didn't even think about that.

It's being delivered to my office tomorrow but I'm going to be out of town for the day! Looks like I'll have to wait til Friday morning when i go in. Of course it lands on the one day in two weeks that I'm gone.

I shouldn't feel bad though - checking istocknow, there is only one 42mm Space Black available in an Apple store on our continent and that's in Nova Scotia and that one is a Milanese loop not the sport that I want.

Dang. Figures. It'll be nice to enjoy the weekend with your new watch, though. I'm hoping by some small miracle mine is delivered Friday or Saturday. But I've got one on my wrist right now so I'm not complaining too much. I've been checking istocknow regularly myself and no one ever has any 42mm stainless models, ever. And often I don't see any at all, at least in my area. It's amazing.
