I measured at a 9 and ordered a braided solo loop. I'm 6'5" / 215 lbs and I usually wear a S/M sport band on the second-to-last hole. My wife is 4'11" / 100 lbs and the sizing tool told her to get a 3 on her solo loop. She's not as crazy as I am so she hasn't set up her new watch yet :p . (Edit: size 3 worked for her no problem) For me:

When I first put it on... it was slightly loose and I was wishing I had gone with an 8, but as the day wears on I'm finding that 9 is just about right. It actually feels great, although I admit I was thinking it's "not tight enough" because I was worried about whether it could effectively measure heart rate and pulse ox.

So I'm thinking I need to reserve judgement and see if I actually have any challenges with the watch picking up readings. May give it a week or two and then order an 8 solo loop just to compare if I'm still worried about it. Figure if I order an 8 and it ends up being snug that would be a good workout / exercise / hiking etc band so no big deal.

Used measuring tape to size mine, got a size 9. Used the printable tool, to scale, got 10. Went to the Apple store to try them on, an 8 had the best fit for me, the 9 felt a little too loose, if I would flick my wrist it would move but would probably be a good fit. I will probably switch out between an 8 or 9.

Ordered the green braided in a size 9, that was way wrong gonna return and get the Gold Milanese Loop

I wonder why so many people patiently put up with the poor sizing on the braided bands... $99 is already stupid money for braided bungee chord. For the premium price it shouldn't leave buyers with so much work/effort to get it right.

Good on ya tayshon for the "one strike" approach and moving on.

I just cancelled my second order and made the third one. Started with size 7, then 6, then 5 (Solo loop with 44mm series 6). Do you guys think I should go to 4? (I like a tight/snug fit). I had measured my wrist (where the Apple Watch will sit), and it looks like I'm 16.5cm.

I'm exactly the same size (6.5"/165mm)... size 5 is perfect - can move my arm around vigorously with no movement. Size 6 could work as well and might be a bit more comfy, but it was able to slide around a bit when shaking my arm around. Size 4 would likely be a bad time.

Since new watches should be arriving today, was wondering if we could get some feedback on Apple’s solo loop sizing accuracy

I printed the sizing chart (checked the scale with a credit card), and ordered a size 8. My watch doesn’t arrive until Monday.

Anyone mind posting how the solo loop fits compared to the sizing chart? I.e., sizing chart said I was a 7 and it fits tight, loose, perfect?
I measured between 8 and 9, went with the 8 for the silicon cypress color loop and it fits perfect. 7 would be way to small and 9 would be too loose.

Perfect! thank you :D. I think I will keep on size 5 then.

Yeah, that was all I can deal with

I've ordered a 5...
- 157mm at the point where I wear my watch - Apple tool recommended a 5/6 (5 is recommended for 151-156, 150 is a 4/5 and 157 is a 5/6)
- Typically wear the S/M band on the 44m at the 3rd from tightest hole. 2nd from tightest is very snug, 3rd from tightest is just right, 4th from tightest (middle hole) is slightly relaxed/loose fit.

I measured my wrist as size 7, so I got the solo loop 7. When I first put it on it seemed perfect. Then after a while it seemed tight. Now that I've worn it for two days it seems to be loosening up slightly which is good.

I think it's better overall than the sport band I've had for two years. I would frequently adjust that between two notches. With this new solo loop it seems to maybe accommodate wrist expansion / contraction?

Stopped at an Apple Store today to check on fit. Needed to make an appointment, but I didn't want to wait.
I'll wait until all of this craziness does down when I can go and get fitted for the right size, or if Apple comes up with a simple and quick exchange plan.
I wonder what they're going to do with the returned bands? I hope they don't resell them as new.

Counting myself lucky/blessed on this braided loop business. Got my 44mm with size 7 Braided Loop. Measured 6.5” with tape measure, size 7 on Apple measuring from website (verifying credit card scale exactly was critical - I think). All signs pointed to 7 and so far it’s good. Took Blood O2 and ECG as it was, with natural compression from braided loop - all worked accordingly. Feels snug enough to work out(HIIT and Run) and not too tight, almost like there’s nothing there holding my watch on. Best of luck to all my fellow Macrumors folks out there! Edit: For comparison, attached pictures of my Sport band (M/L) at the 5th hole from the end (for working out) and 4th hole from the end - and the braided loop was shorter than both - so I think I was lucky in finding the sweet spot on the loop.

I measure right in the middle of 5.
Tried the solo loop and braid in store.
Solo loop (4 is tight but works, 5 seems to be a better fit)
Braid loop (4 is perfect, 5 is too loose it moves)
So in conclusion I’m a 5 in the solo loop and a 4 in the braid.
Anyone else have different sizing like me on the different styles?!

FWIW, I use the same band and the same hole. I ordered a 5 of the Solo Loop and Braided Loop. The Solo Loop was too big and I’m waiting on a my 4. I won’t open the Braided in 5.

You should open it and give it a try. I have different sizings for the different styles.

I thought my braided loop was the perfect size but now I’m worried about it stretching and becoming loose. I checked on Apple’s website and none of the bands are available in store and the earliest they’re shipping is mid November. There’s no way the $90 braided loop is that popular. Why is Apple selling a band right now that they clearly don’t have enough stock of? I hope they‘re getting more stock in and those shipping dates will change.
Yes, the braided loop stretches to get onto your wrist but after some hands-on time I really don't think that it's going to loosen up much, if any, over time.

I just saw your above post. I’m tempted to open it as I know if Apple gets their stuff together I can return it. However if I decide to sell it, which I’m leaning heavily towards, I’d like it to be unopened for the buyer.

The only reason I haven’t is your findings are opposite of mine. The 5 Solo Loop was too big for me.

So does the fact that the watch band sizer doesn’t pay any attention to which size watch you are ordering make any difference? I ordered the 40mm and obviously I wouldn’t need as much watch band length with the 44mm, yet the sizing tool online will give you the same size regardless of which you ordered. Hmmm.

Yeah definitely keep it unopened then if you plan on selling it! I’ve seen a few different posts all saying the braid may fit slightly bigger than the loop so you’re right.

Let me suggest a more objective approach. I would think everyone here has the original Apple sports band as it comes with most Apple watches. So if you're waring the sports band, tell two things: which hole you are using on which size band on which size watch, and is it a snug fit (next hole down would be very uncomfortable or impossible), or a loose fit (next hole down would be snug), and what size solo loop you end up wearing.
I think this is the most objective approach as in essence we use a universal standard which is the original sports band.
great idea
suggestion - start a new thread for tracking specifically only that data

But when you order the band you are selecting either the 40mm or 44mm version so it should be taken into account as they are designed for each specific case.
