Took some quick shots today at lunch. The 4S is pretty darn good for a camera phone, but of course lags a larger sensor camera (like I'm used to) by a considerable margin. Still, decent for 4x6 prints and web use:
Oh wow, that looks great! I guess it all depends on the photographer right? I'm going to go try to take shots like that on my 4S! .. provided my battery lasts me. Also, were all these pics from the stock Camera app?
Wow, those are great. How did you get that first shot to not completely wash out since you were facing the sun? It seems like any pics I've ever taken with my iPhone 4 and 4S with sunlight FACING me just completely wash out
Is funny how the place in real life could look like crap but close up looks amazing ha ha, btw op nice pics man I can't wait for vacations , I let my wife take care of the camera I'll just take them with my iPhone
how do you take macro shots with this? every time i put my phone up close to something and even tap on it to focus, the image blurs. is there something i am not doing right? btw, your pictures look amazing! especially the first one.
Thanks everyone. These were taken with the stock camera app. I did some light tweaking in Photoshop. As to the one comment - I own a Canon 1Ds mark II. These ain't close. But they look good web sized and in small prints. I don't have many iPhone shots there, but those who are interested can check out my website ( I won't link there from here, but Google my name and Photography, and it's the first link)
I'm surprised the metal tracks weren't blown out because the sun was overhead and reflecting off them. Nice shots.
Thanks. The first one was just a small rotation CCW to straighten things, and a crop, with a very small saturation bump. The second one I did the most with, overlaying a ColorEfex Low Key filter at about 50% opacity and then tweaking curves to increase contrast in the wood and rocks. The third one I used a large radius small amount Unsharp Mask to increase local contrast.
Great pics, but more importantly you should be VERY careful on that bridge!!! Have you never seen 'Stand by me'?!
I thought you had moooooooooore to say. You can't just end a sentence thaaaaaaat way. I'm not hatin', your punctuation had me anticipatin'. You used an ellipsis, I think you meant a period. I wasn't sure, so that's why I queried it. I thought you had mooooooooore to say. You can't just end a sentence thaaaaaat way.
A few more from today. This really is a pretty good camera up close, though the resolution for distant subjects is pretty poor. Still decent for a camera phone. The non-square one was processed on the phone in Snapseed. The others are Hipstagram and Instamatic.
