Just to show a different experience, I had no problems getting my order through on AT&T's website. It went live around 1:54 central time. Luckily I was looking at it because I had planned on using the Apple Store App. It felt too good to be true. The estimated delivery date is 11/3. Let's hope it stays that way.
Same experience here. I had no trouble at all. It went live at 2:54 est for me. Took me around 30 seconds to complete everything. Status is now preparing to ship.

I am an AT&T customer and used the Apple Store app...finally allowed me to begin the process about 4 minutes after start, and it even said "delivery or pickup by Nov. 3" but when I went to activate, I got the "can't reach the carrier servers" error...which ultimately prompted an alert from Apple that my iPhone X reservation was made, but that they would follow with an email later to complete my order. I just received the follow-up email an hour ago, and now delivery is scheduled between Nov. 17 - Nov. 24. Frustrating for ordering 4 minutes after availability, and frankly, as SOON as the app allowed me...

I had almost the same experience, except that when I received my e-mail around noon central time and went through the process around 2 PM, my order completed and I will receive it Nov 3. Although, I was using the web site through my iPhone, not the App. However, I was able to order my wife's iPhone through the app with no issues about 3 minutes after the pre-order supposedly started. Yes, I had one phone in each hand ...

I had an interesting experience to say the least. I needed to order an iPhone X for myself (64 GB Space Gray) and one for my wife (64 GB Silver). We are on AT&T but want to go on Apple's iPhone Upgrade Program (so that we aren't tied to AT&T in any way anymore). Originally I was going to get up at 2 AM central time to grab both my and my wife's laptops and have dueling Macs ready to order. However, based on what I had read, I too decided to use the iPhone app. Plus it would be easier to have one phone in each hand and stay in bed instead of getting up.

So a few minutes before 2 AM, I start the refresh cycle I had planned. I would keep checking the app on her iPhone in my left hand, with some force closings and relaunching, while I would go back and forth between the app and the web site on my iPhone in my right hand. About 2:03 her app finally responds and I can start her ordering process. However, the app on my iphone still says "we've got something special ...". I move through the ordering process on her iPhone while I keep refreshing the app and web site on my iPhone. Eventually (I think around 2:07) the web site starts responding on my iPhone, so I start the process there. Pretty quickly I run into the problem where it says they can't reach the carrier's system but "they have an iphone for me". I sit there a little dumbfounded, worrying that I'm screwed but go ahead and proceed and get the reservation number and the message stating that I'll eventually get an e-mail and I'll have 24 hours to complete the order or lose my reservation. I also remember thinking that something said that I would have a Nov 3 delivery so I feel a little good that I have a seemingly good reservation for Nov 3, but also a little worried that I would get screwed over because of the delay. At this point I complete the order for my wife's iPhone and she says she has a Nov 3 delivery. So at least she'll have hers, but that will be weird if I don't have my own as well. Oh well.

Out of curiosity I keep trying the App on my iPhone with no luck. How is it that hers went right through but mine is not? I even go through the step of uninstalling and reinstalling my app and it still doesn't work. Eventually, about 2:20, my app finally refreshes. It appeared to me that I inadvertently swiped down and it refreshed. Was that all I had needed to do earlier? My wife's app didn't appear to require that. Well, whatever. I went ahead and started the ordering process just to see and by that time the delivery time was 2-3 weeks. I spent about 10 more minutes playing around and checking my e-mail in case I would have already received the message from Apple, but nothing. By the time I figured there was nothing else I could do, the delivery time was 5-6 weeks. I go back to sleep hoping that I'll have my iPhone on Nov 3.

When I get up the next morning I have an e-mail from Apple from about 4 AM. But it's not the e-mail I'm waiting for, it's just a reservation confirmation. I don't get the magic e-mail until about noon. But I don't see it until about 2 PM at which time I go through the order process. The good news is that I have a delivery set for Nov 3. So all's well that ends well, I guess.

This is almost the EXACT same situation I found myself in yesterday. However when I received my email from Apple at 11am my time, I was able to put my purchase info in and received a delivery date of nov 3rd for my SG 64

18 minutes to be able to order on the App. My husband in the same house got through in 3. We both got Nov 17-24 dates. Had many errors trying to do mine and we'd both gotten pre-authorized for the upgrade program. Another awful iPhone launch. Technically with the upgrade program I can get a new phone in Sept and always try for as early as possible. Well now we're looking at late Nov. Perhaps a class-action lawsuit by those told we could upgrade in 12 months? it's really 13-14.

Just for the record, AT&T was again the bottleneck for me.
For some reason though, the Apple Store wasn't available until 12:11 PST.
And Safari on my iMac went live before the Apple Store app on my iPhone 7 Plus.

I couldn't finish the pre-order process because Apple couldn't contact the "carrier servers."
Got a reservation number and was told that I could complete pre-ordering some time later.
Apple sent an email telling me to finish pre-ordering, I did, and my delivery window is 11/17 - 11/24.

Thanks, Apple, for reserving my virtual place in line. I completed pre-ordering at my leisure
the next day, instead of re-trying over and over after midnight. F you, AT&T, for holding up
the pre-order process like you do ever single time.

I got stuck with these looping (I have screen shots). It went from a countdown to a 6-minute wait to a redirect to their home page and back to a 16-minute wait.

I ended up using Apples site and have a two week out delivery date.

I had various queue related issues. The countdown timer actually went up, not down, and when it was my turn the page load timed out. When I reloaded I was now queuing for 20 minutes all over again.

I wasn’t able to get my order in until nearly an hour after the preorder.

Order date: 10/27/2017 at 3:58:43 a.m. ET

However...

Delivery by date:
November 3, 2017

Maybe you should offer your IT abilities next year to handle the large influx of those trying to order. Although it only took me 29 minutes to order two phones (two tabs in Safari on my iPad), I look forward to the Vol7ron implementation next year to cut my time in half.

This is as tired and ridiculous an argument as "eat your peas; there are starving children in Africa."

It is 2017. Virtual door-buster events have been a thing on the Internet for a very, very long time. Hell, Apple has had ten years of iPhone debuts to get this right and they still haven't.

I am not an expert on Internet deployments to handle things like this, but got damnit, Apple has literally billions of dollars in cash that they can use to acquire more expertise if the huge staff of experts they already employ for this are insufficient.

The only explanation for the continued failures of the store on these big launches is that Apple doesn't care. And it's clear given their sales that - just like the Soup Nazi - they don't have to.

I was in the local Corporate ATT store the morning of launch and was there just behind 3 other people. When I finally was able to order the iPhone X 256gb in Grey I have a shipping date of December 4 to December 18th.

"Walk into an Apple Store on Nov 3 and be able to pick up an X" MY ASS

Why do we let Apple lie to us? It seems all of the supply constraint rumors were true, at least to some degree, yet they flat out spun it around to make it sound like there would be plenty of inventory. Bull-****ing-****, Tim Cook.
You mad bro? When did anyone from Apple make it sound like there would be plenty of inventory?

Anyone have this problem or see this message when they were pre-ordering?? I’ll attach a pic of it. But I showed one week delivery and just before completing the order I kept getting a message about the IMEI number on my current phone being wrong. Then Apple gave me a reservation number to keep my spot in line and said I had 24 hours to fix my IMEI number. ATT fixed my IMEI number 8 hours into the 24 hour period but on apple’s website they never could recognize the change and I spent all day on the phone with both ATT and Apple and they seemed to just blame each other for the discrepancy, although one Apple rep did some reaearch and said they had a bug they were working out. But...24 hrs came and went and I lost my spot. Any suggestions?? I feel like both companies really screwed be over.

This just confirms my decision to get the iPhone 8+... bigger screen, same processor, pretty much the same cameras, no wait to get it, and lower cost... I'll wait for iPhone XI and let the early adopters work out the bugs with Face ID or welcome the new and improved Touch ID.

And the same design that they’ve been using for the past 4 years. Unacceptable. The reason I went with the X was because I was tired of “upgrading” to the SAME IDENTICAL phone for the past 3 years. This year makes 4. That’s just unacceptable. U can say what u want, but ur phone looks like a phone that came out in 2014. Indistinguishable

It depends on which provider u have, AND if you used the Apple site/app.

I went on the sprint site (at 8am when I woke up late), got a date of Nov 3 with no issues. And got the shipped email today while at work.

I believe it’s the Verizon-ish companies that are seeing a push back. I do miss Verizon but I don’t miss the bill! Oh well

And a Porsche today looks basically the same as a Porsche from five, maybe ten years ago... some designs are just right and don't need to change.

Porsche 911 - 2017

Essentially the same design, but of course refined

ATT still has to get the ordering process right. Its really disgraceful the way this launch went off. ATT lost business, customers are pissed off. Maybe its time to leave ATT.
One thing about ATT customers talk but they never listen. Its almost like they don't care.

Auww... There, There,, you poor pathetic bitches... hope your iPhone X's arrive in time for your next enema.

Bigger screen? I’d check that again. iPhone X screen = 5.8. iPhone 8+ screen = 5.5

5.5 < 5.8

Oh please. You are really comparing a mass produced smartphone to a Porsche? In 6 months, everyone from your Grandma to the kid bagging your groceries is going to have an iPhone X.

I finalized my order at about 1:30 AM AK TIME, att says my estimated ship date is the 2nd-10th. I have my doubts but confirmed multiple times sith their staff that the next email I recieve will be tracking. :notsure:

Anyone have experience with this?
I hac been trying to purchase since 11 PM ON THE DOT, and the only thing I can think is it somehow locked my spot in despite 4 crashes and a myriad of glitches that sent me back to the queue
