Seriously, we have two reported cases amongst the God-knows how many 12 cases that are already out there in the wild and this is the reaction? People should be sacked, it's so embarrassing for Apple, no QA, Apple is doomed, Steve Jobs would never have let it happen etc etc.

Neither Apple during it's supposed golden years that people seem to fondly remember, nor any manufacturing company in the world has ever achieved a 0% defect rate - QA is about keeping that rate to acceptable limits.

Wouldn’t mind this. Would hold on to it long enough to be able to get it swapped by a leather case. Not sending it in without getting a replacement first either.

As I have said before: Apple cases and cables are of poor quality, specially compared to third-party manufacturers that are half the price.

The most expensive cases I have owned I purchased from Apple and they have been the least durable.

And cables... well, they tend to self-destroy in around a year. I still have third-party lighting cables from other manufacturers, I leave them in the car (heat/cold), travel with them, and still look perfect after years.



Right there, the leather cases are the least durable in their catalogue.

I don't really buy cases from apple, but iPad Mini case that I bought for my iPad Mini 2 was very good quality. I wish that they would still offer it. Now they only offer smart cover

I have an iPhone 12 Pro silicone case in Deep Navy, that has 3 holes on the left hand side, and 5 holes on the right hand side!
