^^^^ LOL - with a picture of a cover from iTunes... ;)

My old iPhone had this. Waited a few months until the warrantee was about to expire and then brought it in. Replaced on the spot, new 1 year warrantee (that I needed when another problem developed with the replacement). Good way to get a new shiny one after yours gets all scratched up over time (if we are to believe Engadet).

This has happend with the first Touch's and the first 3G (?) phones - just bring it in and Apple will replace them on the spot...

I still HAVE a yellow iMac... Sighhh, guess I'll have a yellow phone to go with it. :(

Get it the fawk together, Apple! The QC lately is utter garbage!

Uh-oh... here we go! This could turn out to be a major fiasco if it's not dealt with immediately. I wonder why these kind of problems don't appear during the testing phase. Perhaps they are in to big of a hurry to get it to market?

Reminds me of the Macbook staining issue years ago.

Probably because issues pop up when you start mass producing?

Regardless, I'll just check out my reserved iPhone tomorrow before making the purchase.

Same Issue

This is the issue on my iPhone as well. Went to the Apple store today, which of course they couldn't replace it today, but they promised a replacement on Friday, so I am happy. :)

I know I'm waisting my virtual breath here but... just this once could everyone not over-react like a bunch of ten year olds? If it's widespread then by all means sharpen the knives but why not wait and see before going off the deep end? Apple will replace affected units and while it will suck if yours (or mine for that matter) is affected this will ALWAYS happen in a mass produced product, especially in the first batch.

Calm down...

Apple will replace the product if there is a problem, even if you have to wait until the launch furor dies down. And even if 10,000 phones are affected out of this first batch (rather than the maybe 10 or so that have been reported here), that's less than 2%... not a global catastrophe.

I'm sure they will cover it. I was still getting replacements for my 3g 6 months after launch for the "dust issue"

This is exactly the kindof crap I heard with the 27" iMacs... and it's exactly that: crap. Apple replaced mine once, and I was told that because my new one is still yellow, I should take it in to the Genius Bar to get the screen replaced - but that they're only allowing ONE SCREEN REPLACEMENT PER CUSTOMER EVEN IF IT DOESN'T FIXT THE PROBLEM.

I REALLY don't want to deal with another screen that looks like its sweatstained. For what they charge, it should be perfect. PERIOD.

I don't want to know what happens when somebody finds out the iPhone 4 might have a dead pixel... Mass suicide on MacRumors or something
