Oh look an :apple: fanboy that's not only ignored the article but facts and the laws of physics as well. How original.

Antennagate, scratchgate, bendgate, watching the computer side of the business slowly die... That flag must be getting awfully heavy to carry.

I think Apple's still the best company in the game, but I'm also willing to call them out when they **** up like this. Blind faith and adoration doesn't make things better, it makes you look like a fool. These flawed products are exactly what you deserve.

Satisfaction surveys say otherwise.

Based on what evidence? A few pictures on the Internet?

There are many that so desperately need this to be true they will jump at anything.

Yes, desperation brought them here... Not the fact their day-old $749+tax device is bending in their pockets. Keep paddling buddy, you've got a long way to go. ;)

Enjoy reading those surveys on your bent iPhone. ;)

Bend-Gate

Apple needs to address this ASAP! They can reinforce the area by the buttons in production. Their silence is very ominous. Also, how can these so-called engineers not have tested for this? What an embarrassment.

You mean your imaginary thousands of bent phones. That just bend sitting in pockets. Amazing.

I think you need to calm down ASAP.

no, they don't need to address this. it is not a wide spread or unusual problem. Ipads and macbook airs bend too if you but them in a backpack that gets abused. respect your technology and buy something less awesome and fragile if you're an ogre who destroys things.

No it is not a design flaw, it is a stupid way to use it!

There's nothing "stupid" about putting your phone in your pocket. It's a phone. You carry it around. It shouldn't be so flimsy it can break in your pocket.

That said, the 6+ is just too damn big to be practical unless you have a purse or something.

I think there may be a screen recall in the near future.
I looked at several iPhone6 and 6+ over the weekend and they all appear to have the same issue... CLOUDING when there is an all black background with the backlight lit.

It's like the backlight is not uniform.
Did Apple move to edge lit backlight?

Oh comon...an iPhone 6+ or any so called phablet is a rather large handheld computer that happens to include telephone functionality. Anybody that treats these devices like a 1990's flip phone will encounter problems.

You know for something that everyone is saying is such a huge deal and happening to everyone, then why are all the pictures I'm seeing of this exactly the same select few?

Let me know when this is happening to thousands of units and then I'll start to wonder and start questioning.

i tried to bend the demo model here at best buy. seemed legit to me. I guess if I used all my strength I could have, but I cant understand how that would happen in a pocket without leaning up against something.

I wear tight pants also.

Ding Ding Ding! Post of the day!

Yes, the same few pictures of God knows what origin.

I've got a 6+ scheduled to be delivered today, so I called up Apple to see what they were saying. The first two people I spoke to said that if this problem occurred, it would be covered under the normal limited warranty. When I asked if I could get that e-mailed to me in writing, they passed me to the next person. The third person up the chain also initially said that it would be covered, and when I again asked for this in writing, I was put on hold for several minutes. When she came back on the line, she said that it would count as accidental damage until Apple confirms that this is caused by a defect, then she recommended AppleCare+.

So there ya go, clear as mud. And while I understand the benefit of selling an upgraded warranty from their perspective, I have to say that Apple should probably consider NOT making that offer while discussing a possible product flaw- it feels like a bait and switch.

I too have tried to bend a demo model in store. Well, not actually "bend" it, but see how much force I had to apply before it felt like it would actually do something. And yeah, it was way, WAY more than it would experience simply sitting in my jeans pocket as I stand, walk, sit down or rise from my chair. It would take something like leaning against the edge of a firm surface directly on the phone itself in your pocket. Way more than it would reasonably experience in day-to-day use. And that would bend or otherwise damage any smartphone we've ever had in our house. Sorry, but I just couldn't see it experiencing that much pressure in a normal person's jean pocket, even if they were tight as ****.

And like other's have stated, it is indeed awfully suspicious that a supposedly wide-spread problem consists of the same few photos being posted over and over again. This really is starting to sound more like the 5s/5 issues of people bending their phones through some sort of act or accident, and then trying to pretend it was simply just sitting in their pocket and "I din do nuffin it was just in my front pocket when I sat down!"

I've had my iphone 6 in my front pocket over the entire weekend (tight jeens, but not super-tight). No perceivable bend or distortion of the screen to speak of.
