I got an iPhone 6 and have taken exquisite care of it but under close examination my brand new phone does indeed have a bow to it. It's subtle but you can see it. I'm a dude, it lives in my pocket, I primarily wear jeans.

My new phone has a bow to it after just 4 days of ownership and super gentle use.

Mark my words this will blow up in Apples face big time.

What did you expect will happen putting a thin phone in tight jeans , in your back pocket with a wallet.

You should have had it in special case and use a Bluetooth headset!! I don't know why you would even touch the phone!! It has a big screen for a reason!!

There is such a thing as too thin. We have officially reached that threshold. What is Apple's obsession with thinner? I would rather have more battery life and a more rigid phone, personally.

Bingo. I have not personally heard anyone criticize recent iPhones as being too thick. But they are continually criticized for short battery life.

So what does Apple do? Make the phones thinner and shrink the batteries every chance they get. Now in addition to underwhelming battery life we get phone that bend easily and iSheep telling us they we're not carrying it right.

I missed where he said back pocket with wallet.

Oh comon...an iPhone 6+ or any so called phablet is a rather large handheld computer that happens to include telephone functionality. Anybody that treats these devices like a 1990's flip phone will encounter problems.
Agreed on that front, but because it's called "iPhone" people are going to try to treat it like a normal phone. Personally I can't see the logic in hauling around such a thing.

I have to laugh at all the 'apologists' on here, claiming your an idiot for putting your nobel phone in your front pocket... something we have been doing for years and years no matter the phone with NO problems...

Just because it's Apple eh :roll eyes:

Anyway this story is picking up pace across the world! The BBC is reporting on it, siting this story and website!! We're all famous haha..

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-29331349

Watch the video there as it's IMO how a normal person would use the device. And they did not bend the phone.

eh.......... you are joking right? A device the size of the 6 Plus, in your back pocket, with a wallet....

Storing it like that it would be a miracle if it didn't bend, insert face palm emoticon here.

Given the amount of pressure that those you tubers had to exert, I find it hard to believe it would bend simply by sitting with it in your front pocket, unless you have huge thighs. The guy from the BBC shows his didn't bend after having it in his front pocket all day, although he was normal sized. Perhaps the plus sized phone isn't made for plus sized people.

I'm not questioning the bending if it was in his back pocket with a wallet. I just don't see where he said that's how he was carrying it. What if it was in his front pocket and he didn't sit on it?

I can understand the uproar if these phones gets bent when put inside your front pocket(s) like a normal person. Sitting on the phone while in your back pocket is another story.

I have a 6+ and I keep it in my right front pocket and it's not bent yet.

I was being sarcastic,

Got it. You never know around here, some go to extreme lengths to defend all things Apple. A couple of years ago a user here broke AntennaGate, he got the reply from Steve, Don't hold it that way. He was ridiculed and called a liar, until the story broke. There was a 100+ page thread about that.

I would expect problems if I put a phone in my back pocket with a wallet and sat on it. If I had it in my front pocket walking around, I would think that most men would carry it that way.

Maybe the clowns who buy expensive hardware then sit on it, also sit on their Macbook airs? iMacs? First born child?

"Even the most recent smartphones are not designed to be put in trouser pockets - front or back - where they are going to be under the most chassis strain. And this just illustrates the fact that the public's desire for manufacturers to strive for ever thinner and lighter devices means that we are getting ever more fragile devices.

"Just casually sticking a £700 smartphone in your pocket is an increasingly reckless thing to do."

I didn't realize I was crazy reckless putting my cell phone in my front pants pocket?

If it was in their front pocket and they didn't sit on it, then it's another issue as a phone should NOT bend under those circumstances, the bear minimum a phone would take is being put into a front pocket and the person sitting down! But Apple is obsessed with thinness....

Instead of making the phone thick enough so the camera doesn't protrude and the battery is slightly bigger and the phone doesn't bend.. all the the sake of 0.77mm.

I’m still confused how these devices are bending in a front pocket. If the phone is pressed flat again your thigh, I don’t see how the pocket/pants/shorts is creating nearly enough pressure to bend it.

Look at the pressure the guy in that one video exerts, notice how he has to make a very small pressure point and lever the sides - I don’t see that same kind of thing happening laying flat in a front pocket.

I *bet* people aren’t getting the whole monstrous phone in their pocket, and it’s bending because it’s laying across their waist - imagine the phone partially in your pocket, but sticking out enough so when you sit, it gets “folded” at your waist line. One end is against the thigh, the other end is levered from your stomach. Should it bend even if that’s the case? Probably not.
