9.0.2 6s, no issues like this. I even do it from a restore from the 6 Plus.
Definitely not 9.0.2, cuz if it is, I'll be having it too. Could be a hardware problem... or just using it wrong :D

I had an issue with my 6s a few days ago. The home was extremely hot yet the the screen had no activity. Nothing happened when I pressed the sleep or home button.

I had to do a force shutdown on the phone.

Probably restored from backup. Leave your old junk from that 3GS behind.
Will you be posting on all bug threads from now on in order to declare old backups the root of every issue?

Perhaps if apple allowed to backup and restore some data, instead of everything.

I'm stuck with a backup started on my 3GS as apple doesn't provide good solutions for migrating data.

Also why is it immediately turned into a users fault?

Already started...
Haven't experienced this yet, but I hope it's a software issue rather than a hardware issue
Being involved several models, I think it's a software issue

Could be a specific combination of software...

Its not the iPhone 6s thats having the problem its IOS 9 thats the problem, because my iPhone 5 and iPad are doing the same thing.
:confused: I'm glad you posted that. I came close to finally deciding to update my iPad retina mini 2 from iOS 8 to the current iOS. My iPhone has been doing fine so far on it. I'm just going to keep my mini right where it's at now.

Since installing the pb of iOS 9 in July on my 6 and now currently using 9.1b3 on my 6s+ I haven't had any issues at all (crosses fingers). This issue sounds like backboardd is having issues and crashing causing the springboard to be reset. Haven't had it happen to me yet so I can't pull logs or actually try to see what's going on, but I'll keep an eye out for it.

This is a natural feature of every smartphone. If you're doing something extremely taxxing on the processor, it may shut off because of overheating. Perfectly normal.
Yeah of course it's perfectly normal, in fact it's so normal my HTC phones have done it zero times in 6 years, but then we're not talking about normal phones, we're talking about the BMW of phones, or more precisely the VW of phones.

What's taxing? Listening to Freddy Merury singing Barcelona on Apple Music?

It's times like this that make me wonder how Apple can get away with preventing us from reverting to earlier versions of iOS.

When I bought my iPhone 5s, it shipped with iOS 7. I updated my phone to iOS 9, which I feel has made the phone slower. What purpose does it serve for Apple to prevent me from reinstalling iOS 7 so the phone is just the same as how it was when I bought it?

Apple doesn't do this with OSX on Macs. I can reinstall OSX Lion on my MacBook Air 2011 any time I feel like it. Why is iOS treated differently?

by installing a later version of iOS , the device runs slower, frustrating the user into upgrading . Having the ability to downgrade would mean you keeping your device longer . I regret upgrading a number of devices to iOS 8

If you stick to the version of iOS that comes with your device , it wil run smoothly . Problem is, when Apple pushes these updates , and makes them so easy to install, there is no warning that your decide will be slower and suffer from lag.

I noticed my iPhone 6 and now iPhone 6S both would randomly get VERY hot. Both were updated to iOS 9, and then 9.01, and then 9.02, but continue to get SUPER HOT at random times. But neither of them have shut off due to temperature yet....

And yet it has not happened before iOS 9?
