My 14 Pro has been rebooting every night at least since December 2022; only started noticing because I got a second SIM with PIN code activation on it (never had PIN on SIM before) 🤷🏽‍♂️

This has been happening to me every night, last night the battery menu currently shows no power from just after 3am to 6am. I'm hoping it's related to the 7.1 beta, I also submitted a bug report.

Running 17.1b3 on a 12 Pro here. This has definitely happened to me, but as others have done, I brushed it off since my watch is my primary alarm. The phone sits plugged in most days, with not a tonne of use as it’s no longer my daily driver.

Must be related to charging, and maybe even overnight, because it has not happened to me yet and I haven’t been charging my phone overnight. Just been throwing it on the charger at some points throughout the day with no restarts.

I haven't see it with my iPhone 12 under iOS 17.0.3--so far! 🤞 But then, I do "reboot" my iPhone and iPad every Saturday morning, so...

(In short, try a once-per-week reboot at minimum. A rebooted iPhone usually runs with greater stability, in my opinion.)

I've been a launch day upgrader for 5 years, and this is by far the buggiest release I've experienced during that time.

I think it might be related to optimized charging. I used „stop charging at 80%“ for the first 2 weeks on my new iPhone 15 Plus and changed it to optimized charging for exactly one day / night. I did not think much of it but it was the same day I was wondering why my iPhone asked me for my passcode to activate FaceID in the morning. I switched back to „stop charging at 80%“ the next day and it hasn’t happened again since

As many others, I too have seen this happen (13 Pro). But - maybe it happens once in 3 weeks that I need to enter the PIN in the morning. Interestingly, I never thought to look at battery state to see if there is a "gap".

iOS 13.x, 14.x 15.x, 16.x, 17.x absolute and total disasters.
Pathetic really.
iPhone 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 absolute and total disasters.
Pathetic when compared to the competitors.

Right. Samsung's phones exploding and being banned from flights was not pathetic at all and this is definitely on the same level.

This morning I woke up to a dead iPhone 15 Pro, at least I thought it was dead until I had to powered it ON.

Five (5) day old iPhone 15 Pro.

Good Grief Apple what are you doing????????

Mine was set to 80% limit and it still happened to me

I also have clean energy charging off (which I didn’t realize until I just looked at it) so I don’t think it’s related to that either 🤷🏼‍♀️

In the last week, I do remember one time where I was surprised I picked up my phone and had to enter my code to get into it. I don't remember what time of day that was though. Pretty sure it wasn't in the middle of the night or in the morning.

Checked the battery setting page last night and this morning. It shows no blank spots.

I will say that I'm pretty much always oncall for work. I really can't be having my phone just shut off randomly. That is a REALLY big issue for me.

If MR included an Internet Outrage Rating (tm) with every article like I've suggested, the Outrage (tm) for this issue would rate...MEDIUM to HIGH.

Every once and awhile I’ll have to enter my passcode in the morning but I never see the giant gap in the battery usage page.

My iPhones have been doing this for years on multiple versions of iOS. Nothing new here to me. Currently on 14 pro with 16.7.1.

Time for OG again:

Had this on my iPhone 13 mini.
In addition my morning alarm doesn't start intermittently.
iOS is beta.

I had this one or two days ago, don't remember exactly. The iPhone (15 Pro, with iOS 17.0.3) was asking for the unlock password for the phone AND the unlock PIN for the SIM... which was actually my issue... I had not cell phone service since it rebooted (didn't find exactly when it was, but around midnight I guess) since the SIM was locked.

Edit: as others have mentioned, I think that apart from the Cellular connection, ALSO the WiFi was not connected until I put my password. This is a big issue!

I have had the "limit to 80% of battery" enabled since maybe 2 weeks or so. The Green energy setting is not visible for me (I'm in Mexico, I think this was geofenced to some markets?)
