Based on feedback around the virtual office, the new iMac is a hit with the under 40 crowd.
Same here! The colleagues that I showed what I've ordered, were extremely positive on the looks. Mind you, these are all non-Apple-fans. These are well educated regular Joes, and pretty much every one of them was positive on the design of the new iMac.

I'm 49 and I love it, although I do miss the front Apple logo. Nothing that the included stickers won't fix, though.

What are they going to say though? It would be pretty rude to say "Ew, those are ugly" after you just informed them you already made the purchase.

The iMac (aside from the G4) has always had a fixed stand. Don't get why it's an issue now.

Regardless, you can get it with a VESA adapter and use the articulated stand of your choice.
Never pass up the opportunity to sell an adapter for something that could have been built in, like just about every modern flat screen monitor and TV.

Because it's table stakes at this point. Why do we accept such a garbage stand just because it's been garbage in the past? They've improved every other aspect of the computer, what makes the stand so special that it's not allowed to get better over time?

Apple sells a VESA-compliant version of the iMac, so you can order it out of the box that way if you want. The only downside is that you have to choose between the stand and the VESA version if you do it that way.

Be interested to see an independent review of the iMac before I purchase. Unusual that Apple has only given cursory information on performance.

Performance is same as the M1 Mac Mini, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air (more or less).

Aside from the the colorful attractive 24” iMac aesthetics, Tom’s Guide points out the M1 Mac Mini as a alternative, without the display or speakers. Interesting a 16 GB unified memory, 1 TB SSD storage 24” iMac with best SoC is $2099, comparably the M1 Mac Mini same options is $1299. Wish there were some actual reviews you could read. :)

Might have been a feature for Apple to offer an AirTag pre-connected to your account and iPhone (assuming you have one), to ship with their larger, more valuable products. I rather like the idea of being able to track its delivery from warehouse to me – not relying on some delivery company’s claims.

orders shifting no problem. shift the order to the later coming iMac w/ bigger screen. makes anyway more sense to buy that!!!

Looking forward to see real life pictures of the colourful iMac. Everyone please share photos once you get it
