I definitly agree with the criticisims, but also see the point of OS crossplatform unification. Microsoft definitly misstepped with the approach it took with its portable platforms and Microsoft office. Maybe Apple saw the writing on the wall.
So you're now classed as a 'Power User' if you use Pages and Numbers?!
'Power users become upset at lack of features on Stickies'!
They messed up Garageband too. You can't even export MP3 anymore or set the parameters you want.
Funny what they call an upgrade. Making the desktop less powerful to be parity with a weaker (IOS) platform is a mistake. Lowest common denominator.
Power Users? That use iWork?
Something must be wrong here!
As do many of us, when forced by my employers. Thankfully some of us have been liberated from that world on our personal computers with iWork, Google docs, or Open office..
The share tab is gone, too. I used this multiple times a week when emailing professors my research assignments/homework via PDF.
Before it was Share > share via email (PDF) send
Now it's: File > export > PDF > save to desktop > right-click PDF on desktop > share > email > send.

Couple points after using the new versions of iWork apps.
- After the upgrade, you have both version of iWorks on your computer so you can always use the old version until you are happy with the new version.
- I have been using the new version with no real negative side effects. A couple missed features, but nothing mission critical. And before you get in a huff and claim I must be a simpleton user, I am an ecological modeller working on some very complex projects.
- Common tasks I typically find myself doing are much faster in the new version

can't please everyone
Not everybody works with footnotes, et cetera. I like Pages.
Hopefully now that there exists some semblance of parity between the iOS, iCloud, and Mac versions, the feature set of all three will begin to expand.
iWork '09 is NOT deleted when you update - in other words, you get to keep both versions (old and new). So what's the problem exactly?

We have seen the play before - I think this happens because apps might have been rewritten. They start with a clean slate and they will add those missing features again in a future update. Classic example is FCX, in each update they add a bit of those Pro missing features.
